Today our Class of 2020 was inducted into the Holy Cross Alumni Association via a drive-through ceremony on Paris Avenue to honor the originally scheduled date of their commencement – May 23, 2020 -- which has been rescheduled for July.
This Saturday, our Class of 2020 will be inducted into the Holy Cross Alumni Association via a drive-through ceremony on Paris Avenue from 9-11 a.m. Beginning at 9 a.m. with the ringing of the Victory Bell, Headmaster Sean Martin, Chief Mission Officer Teresa Billings, and Chief School Officer Eric DesOrmeaux will present to each senior their Holy Cross Alumni Association Card, Alumni Association Pin, Brother Andre Medal, and Cap and Gown.
On May 19, we honor the birthday of the late Brother Melchior Polowy, C.S.C., former wrestling coach and Holy Cross 2015 Hall of Fame inductee.
May 1 is the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. In all his ordinariness, St. Joseph embodies the religious spirit for which all Christians long—integrity, fortitude, fidelity, and sanctity. In living out his foreboding vocation of being the husband of Mary and the foster father of the Messiah, St. Joseph remained unwavering in his loyalty, faithful to his mission, and unselfishly open to the will of God. St. Joseph did this not out of blind obedience or ignorance; he did it simply out of love.
Holy Week allows us to enter Jerusalem with our Blessed Lord and trace His steps from the Last Supper, to the Cross, and lastly to his tomb. Please take some time this week to enter into prayer and join your Parish in a virtual Mass.
Holy Cross School is pleased to announce the hiring of three alumni to join its athletic department next school year. Nick Saltaformaggio ’77 will serve as head football coach. Ryan Hess ’95 will become the school’s new head wrestling coach. In addition, Roland Barbay ’82 will join Holy Cross as a football coach and full-time member of the athletic department staff.

Fourteen Holy Cross students embarked on the trip of a lifetime—the Archdiocese of New Orleans March for Life 2020. It was an inaugural experience for them because they were the first to attend the March for Life Pilgrimage while representing Holy Cross School.
To celebrate diversity and recognize a vital part of our country’s history, the Holy Cross social studies department is honoring Black History Month in February with a series of programs and projects school wide.
