A Christmas Message from the Headmaster

Dear Holy Cross Family,

Blessed Basil Moreau said, “For those who live by faith, the cross is a treasure more valuable than gold and precious stones.”  As we prepare for Christmas, I am delighted how our entire school community has come together to celebrate family through the Cross.  Thus far this year, our Rivalry Tailgate, Family Day, Golf Tournament and annual Christmas luncheon have seen record attendance.  Additionally, we hosted our inaugural Caroling Under the Oaks that was a tremendous success. This collective celebration of our community reminds me of another Blessed Basil Moreau quote, “With eyes of faith consider the greatness of your mission and the wonderful amount of good which you can accomplish.” I want to thank each of you: students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni for your commitment to excellence and the Holy Cross mission.

“Being Family” is not just a theme for the Holy Cross Community; it is truly a way of life that we embrace each and every day. We demonstrate family when we act as servant leaders, sacrifice to provide for others in need, embrace one another in times of loss, and most importantly, celebrate the unique gifts and talents that God has given each of us.

Christmas is a time for us to be with our families and to celebrate God’s greatest gift to us, his son Jesus Christ. May the Christmas season be a reminder for us to have God at the center of our hearts and homes, and may the Holy Family remind us to be instruments of peace in our community.

God bless you and your family, and Merry Christmas!
