Senior Privileges
Through the journey of making your transition from a boy to a man, you are continuously challenged and molded into a person that can overcome obstacles. Your hard work pays off the day you graduate and receive your diploma and can now be a contributing member to society that is self-sufficient. At Holy Cross when you enter your final year, senior year, you are rewarded with privileges that set you apart from the rest of the student body as a symbol of your dedication to educating your mind, heart, body, and soul.
Just like many other high schools at the beginning of your senior year, you receive a senior ring. Holy Cross follow suit with this tradition and issues rings with the HC seal, year of graduation, crest, mascot, and name engraved on the inside. There is a mass where you receive your ring and a dance following immediately after reserved strictly for seniors. Being a senior is a tremendous honor and starts with wearing a white shirt. The white shirt shows everyone on campus that you are now the leaders of the school. All the young kids dream and can't wait to become a senior. They all look up to you as a role model of the school.
Other privileges include senior fleeces with an embroidered design that is submitted by members of the senior class, leaving 5 minutes before the bell for lunch, entering the cafeteria first and skipping the line, and being able to walk across the HC seal in the High School Building.
Another big part of being a senior is being able to have a little more free time. Teachers don’t tell you everything you need to know, meaning homework wise or any school work. As a senior, you are more on your own because you are now independent and have completed your journey from boy to man.
