Two Sixth Graders Place in Academic Games Nationals

Congratulations to 6th graders Christian Smith and Luke Suggs for their National placements at the Academic Games National Tournament held in Knoxville, TN this past weekend.

Christian's team placed second in the language arts competition Propaganda and were semi-finalists in the math competition Equations. Luke's team placed fourth in the history competition Presidents. For four days these smart young men faced off against top students from around the country, as well as students from India.

They bring home the tournament’s iconic Thinker Trophies to proudly display at Holy Cross for their national placements. Both young men had to first qualify for the national tournament at the city level before being asked to represent New Orleans at the national level. They are coached by Leah Wehmeyer.

If you would like your son to join the Holy Cross Academic Games team for next year, please contact administration for information.
