Over the past 3 months, Holy Cross students in 8th grade through 11th grade honors science courses have competed at the Holy Cross, Greater New Orleans, and Louisiana State Science Fairs and won over $4500 in cash awards, prizes, and scholarships!!
We’d like to recognize a few students with outstanding achievements at the Louisiana State Fair: 8th grader Solomon Richardson won FIRST PLACE in the category of Biomedical Engineering (mentor – Mrs. Tara Lavender), 10th grader Gage Baldassaro won THIRD PLACE in Physics & Astronomy and 2 special awards (mentor – Dr. Katherine Schilling), and 9th grader Colby Benoit won THIRD PLACE in the category of Engineering Technology (mentor – Mrs. Barbara Odinet).
