Holy Cross School Announces Mister Kirkwood as New Athletic Director

Holy Cross School formally announces Mr. Mister Kirkwood as the new Athletic Director for the school.

Kirkwood brings to Holy Cross more than 22 years of experience working in education and coaching in both public and private schools. As he enters his eleventh year at Holy Cross, he has taught World Geography, Civics and Psychology and served as the P.E. department chair and LHSAA compliance director. Mr. Kirkwood has also been the Varsity Head Basketball Coach since 2013. Along with serving Holy Cross as the athletic director, Kirkwood will continue as the Varsity Head Basketball Coach.

Mr. Kirkwood says it was through his role as a parent that his love and respect for Holy Cross further developed. “I was able to see Holy Cross through the eyes of my son Tyler (a graduate of the class of 2020). After being at other institutions, I quickly realized this place has something special, rooted deep in tradition. I am humbly excited for my role as Athletic Director that will allow me to promote the mission of the school through our athletic department, support our talented coaching staff, and advocate for our student athletes.”

A 1994 graduate of Crescent City High School, Mr. Mister Kirkwood earned his Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is currently pursuing his Master’s in Sports Administration with a concentration in Educational Leadership.
