Holy Cross School Fills Box Truck with Donations for Hurricane Laura Victims

NEW ORLEANS – Holy Cross School worked with its student body, families, faculty and staff to host a collection for items to help those affected by Hurricane Laura.

Initiated by members of the HC Student Council, Holy Cross School aimed to collect items such as diapers, cases of bottled water, nonperishable canned food items, toiletries and more. After one week of collecting, Holy Cross School was able to fill a large box truck with items that had been donated. On September 10, 2020 all donations were brought to Second Harvest Food Bank to distribute in Lake Charles, LA.

“Holy Cross School was majorly affected by Hurricane Katrina 15 years ago. So many people came to our aid then, and we feel as though it is our duty to return the favor now by helping those affected,” said Holy Cross Student Council President, Charles Sauerwin.

Holy Cross School would like to thank its students, families, faculty and staff for contributing to those who were affected by Hurricane Laura.
