The COVID-19 A.K.A. the coronavirus has forced businesses and schools across the nation and the world to shut down for quarantine. Besides the pile of work that will occupy both students and teachers during “coronacation”, there are still many ways that people can pass the time during the quarantine.
- One thing you can do during quarantine is sleep; this is a very popular choice among the youth stuck at home it seems. Taking a nap is a fantastic way of chipping a few hours off your day and everybody enjoys a good nap. Just make sure you don’t mess up your sleep schedule and you keep tabs on your assignments.
- Playing video games is always fun. Jace Stewart, a Junior at Holy Cross, said, “With the work we are getting, I would say I spend a quarter of the day playing video games, but I have been doing other things like cleaning and exploring my surroundings.”
- A third option is to focus on a hobby, whether you just start one or you’ve been having one. A hobby could consist of painting, gardening, or even collecting rocks; any sort of hobby would be a great way of passing the time during quarantine.
- Binge watch everything! Chester Mills, another Junior at Holy Cross, said, “After I finish my assignments, I usually just binge-watch whatever is on Netflix and that passes the time”.
- Finally, one more thing you can do during the quarantine is to spend time with your family. This social distancing ironically has a way of bringing us even closer with our loved ones. Getting to talk with them more or even play a game or two with a sibling can serve as great bonding, stress relievers, and just great quality time that we might not have had the time for before this outbreak.
We hope this list can provide some sanity for you. Remember to keep up with your assignments and stay safe during this quarantine. We are HC!
