Lent is a season of reflection and preparation to celebrate Easter. Christians who partake in lent replicate Jesus’ sacrifice in the desert. In addition to fasting from meat on Ash Wednesday and every Friday in Lent, Catholics make sacrifices by giving something up or doing something extra. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday which is always held 46 days before Easter. This year lent began on Wednesday, February 26 and will end on Thursday, April 9. To encourage our Holy Cross family to participate in this liturgical season we want to know:
“What are you giving up for Lent?”
