If you’ve been paying attention to the news, social media, or even basic conversations, you are aware that the latest buzz has been the hype surrounding Popeye’s new Chicken Sandwich. Considering they have been serving high quality chicken for years now, it came with no surprise that they would release a Chicken Sandwich. The big question is, though, “Is the chicken sandwich worth it?” Personally, I think that the Chicken Sandwich was a very good addition to the menu, as it brings more versatility to your options while ordering. As for the sandwich itself, it comes in 2 different flavors, mild and spicy, with pickles on the bun. The Chicken Sandwich tastes very good, with my personal favorite being the spicy option, as its unique Cajun style seasoning and hints of cayenne pepper make it a delicious meal. And, it is a filling meal none the less, as they put a big piece of chicken on the sandwich itself. Everyone is trying to get their hands on this sandwich to try for themselves. “It is the greatest invention since sliced bread. It brings cultures together. The Chicken sandwich is becoming a cultural melting pot, from the mayonnaise to the pickles, every detail is impeccable,” describes Jalen Johnson, ’21. However, if you want to try one for yourself, prepare to wait in line. For some, it has taken up to 30 minutes just to get a sandwich. “It’s something in the sandwich that gets you addicted. I had 9 already,” explains Justin Littleton, ’21. With that being said, I would personally go back and get the chicken sandwich again every time, despite the long lines. It’s just that good!
