The pep rally on Friday was no doubt one of the more notable and remarkable pep rallies of the year. Whether it was due to the fact that this was the Holy Cross Tigers’ last regular season football game or whatever the case may have been, there was no doubt a different kind of high energy attached to this one. “It was actually kind of nice. This one was pretty fun,” described freshman, Mehki Weir. Clearly the pep rally did its job and brought students out of their shells and into the school spirit. The pep rally consisted of the usual performances by the HC cheerleaders and the HC tiger band. The pep rally also had relay races between students and teachers ranging from a wheel barrow race, three-legged race, dressing as a football player, and a fireman carry race. The winning team consisted of Coach Turner, Mr. DuMouchel, Mrs. Gonzales, Mrs. Willis, Coach Kamlade, Coach AJ, and Mrs. Clark. This pep rally also had something a bit unique as the moms of the senior football players put on a funny dance performed for their sons. Junior, Dylan DiMaggio said, “It was cool even when the Moms came out and did a seemingly very coordinated dance. It really showed a connection between not only the students but even the parents of the students as well.” This gave the school a good laugh and a sweet tug on the heart strings. The pep rally was filled with fun and excitement and was a great way to end the week and send the football team off to their last regular season game. We are HC!
