Congratulations to Holy Cross graduate Cade Martin '19, who has been selected as a winner of a National Merit Louisiana State University Scholarship. He is the second National Merit Scholarship winner in the Class of 2019, in addition to classmate Blake Ziegler, who won a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship.
Martin was named one of approximately 15,000 National Merit Finalists in February and is now one of about 4,000 finalists who have been named college-sponsored scholarship winners. The winners were chosen based on their academic records, scores on two standardized tests, leadership in school and community activities, written essays and recommendations from high school officials, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corp.
Martin will be attending Louisiana State University, where he will be a member of the Honors College and plans to major in biochemistry and physics.
