Eighth Grade Earth Science Students Explore Space Lessons

Our eighth graders have been exploring a unit about space and rockets, which included a visit to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida as part of their class trip last month.

As part of their lesson, Holy Cross parent Ms. Shelly Clark spoke to the Earth science class last week. Clark works for The Boeing Company as a configuration management engineer. She explained how rockets are made and talked about the future of rockets going to the Moon and Mars. Clark is currently working on the next rocket that will be launched by NASA and hopes to attend the launch with her son.

The class ended their study of space by building paper rockets and using a stomp rocket system to launch them.
