Holy Cross Honors Mother May with May Crowning

Holy Cross students celebrated the crowning of our Blessed Mother Mary this week with ceremonies at our Elysian Fields and Paris Avenue campuses. The students celebrated Mary by singing songs of praise, praying and laying flowers.

At our Elysian Fields campus, our second graders led the ceremony, in honor of those who received their first communion. They read a poem, “Lovely Lady Dressed in Blue,” and second grade Tiger Pride award winner Nash Adams placed the crown on Mary. The primary choir sang beautiful songs to celebrate Mary as our Queen accompanied by our drummers.

Students at our Paris Avenue campus celebrated Mary at the new grotto following a Mass celebrated by Rev. David Ducote. Senior Christopher Townsend crowned Mary as students presented flowers to the blessed Mother. The Men's Choir accompanied the prayer service with songs honoring Mary.
