Butterfly Garden - Build on HC Campus

Holy Cross Butterfly Garden

is moving to a new location.

We need your help!

The butterfly garden was originally installed in 2015 by a team of Holy Cross teachers, parents, and students and has been used as a teaching tool ever since. This year, we are looking for donations of materials and a team of volunteers to help install the garden in its new location so that the learning and “growing” can continue! We would love to see HC alums (especially those who may have helped install the original garden) come out!

We will host 2 Volunteer days

  • Saturday, February 24, 7am-12pm – we will prepare the new site (removing grass, laying down weed barrier, building the raised beds, and installing perimeter fencing); rain out date – Saturday, March 2)
  • Saturday, March 9, 7am-12pm – we will fill the raised beds with soil, plant our nectar and host plants, lay down mulch, and (maybe) install our rain barrels from Green Light New Orleans; rain out date – Saturday, March 16)
Volunteering - (Students can earn service hours)
