As we prepare to celebrate a long-time rivalry this Friday, September 14 with the Holy Cross vs. Chalmette football game, our Student Council will be offering a pre-game tailgate event on Friday from 3:00-5:30 p.m. at the Holy Cross Paris Avenue Campus. All students are welcome to join us, and the tailgate event is free!
The tailgate is hosted by our Student Council and Alumni Association, and it will include hot dogs, drinks and games. The event concludes at 5:30 p.m., and all students must be picked up from the Student Center steps no later than 5:30 p.m. Students who normally attend after-care are welcome to attend the tailgate, but they must RSVP below.
In addition, we are offering a bus trip for students who would like to ride to and from the game. This opportunity is only open to students in grades 5-10. Students will gather in the Student Center Atrium at 5:45 p.m., and the bus will leave at 6 p.m. for Chalmette. Parents will pick up their students at Holy Cross at the conclusion of the game (approximately 10 p.m.). Students who wish to participate in the bus service will be required to ride the bus both to Chalmette and back to Holy Cross for safety reasons.
Bus space is limited to the first 120 students who register. The cost of the bus ride is $5 and a signed permission slip is required. Money and permission slips must be turned into the Student Activities Office (A212) by Wednesday, September 12 at 12:00 Noon. Teachers in grades 5-10 sent students a copy of the permission slip via Portal, or you can click here to download the form.
The $5 bus fee DOES NOT INCLUDE A GAME TICKET. Students are responsible for purchasing a game ticket in order to enter the game. Tickets can be purchased from the Spirit Shop or the Headmaster's Receptionist for $7 in advance or $9 at the gate. Please make sure your son has a ticket or money to purchase a ticket at the gate. It is also recommended that he have cash to purchase concessions if desired at the game.
If you plan to participate in the bus trip/tailgate event, please complete the following survey so we can get an accurate head count for food and drinks. You must also turn in the permission slip by 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, September 12.
