Holy Cross supports a well developed and highly respected Karate program. The style of karate studied at Holy Cross is Kenjitsu or Chanbara (sword fighting). Not only does Holy Cross attend the World Championship every year, but we have produced six world champions over the years.

Tigers Earn World Champion Status in Karate

2005 HC Alum, Armand Parvazi, claimed the World Champion (Gold) in the men's
black belt and also earned World Champion status as a judge.  In addition, Peter Billings-'06,
was named a World Championship Judge.  Current Tigers, Chad Mouille (Jr.), Ryan Borel (Jr.) and
Ryan Duplantis (So.) all had top finishes.  Mouille was World Champion (Gold) in the 16-17 year old division, Borel earned a World Championship (Gold) in the 14-15 Intermediate Division, and
Duplantis took 3rd (Bronze) in the 14-15 Intermediate Division.
