Performing Ensembles Tiger Marching Band is the largest and most visible ensemble in the Holy Cross Band Program. This ensemble performs at all Holy Cross football games and various Mardi Gras parades each year. The band is also an award-winning ensemble participating in marching festivals/contests during the fall semester. Performances:

The ensemble is comprised of all the Tiger Marching Band. The Symphonic Band is a training ensemble, however, it does perform throughout the school year. Striving to improve students playing ability, technically, as well as musically, this ensemble works on musical literature geared toward this goal. State Large Ensemble Festival Holy Cross Spring Concert Holy Cross Graduation Rehearsal Schedule: The Tiger Symphonic Band rehearses each school day during zero period (6:55 - 7:50), from November - May. This is a full class period and attendance is mandatory. Tiger Jazz Ensemble is the single ensemble geared toward that style of music New Orleans is known for, Jazz. The ensemble exposes students to the various styles of Jazz: Swing, Bebop, Latin, Fusion, Jazz Rock to name a few. The Jazz Ensemble is open to all members of the Tiger Band. Performances: Holy Cross Family Day Holy Cross Open House Holy Cross Luncheon Holy Cross Christmas Concert Holy Cross Pops Concert Holy Cross Spring Concert Rehearsal Schedule: The Tiger Jazz Ensemble rehearses on Tuesday from 2:30 - 3:30. This is the only weekly rehearsal for the Jazz Ensemble, therefore, and attendance is mandatory. Court Jesters is the pep band of the band program. This ensemble is comprised of selected members of the Tiger Marching Band. Performances: Pep Rallies Holy Cross Family Day Holy Cross Open House Home District Basketball games Rehearsal Schedule: The Court Jesters hold very few rehearsals. Those that are usually during the activity period of the school day. Gazebo Brass Quintet is comprised of the top brass players from the Symphonic Band. The quintet works on various pieces of literature written for or arranged for brass quintet. Students learn the techniques of playing in a small ensemble as opposed to a full band. The quartet works on various pieces of literature written for or arranged for saxophone quartet. Students learn the techniques of playing in a small ensemble as opposed to a full band. Members for 2008: 1st Alto Sax - Marc Linam 2nd Alto Sax - Chris Tiebaud Tenor Sax - Zachary Gaston Baritone - Henry Bryant Trumpet Trio is comprised of the top three trumpet players from the symphonic band. The trio plays various pieces of literature written for a trumpet trio and also plays pieces that are accompanied by the whole symphonic band.
