Allerton, Connie Middle School English, Bulletin Consultant Mrs. Allerton has been an English teacher in the Holy Cross Middle School for 8 years, and has taught for a total of twenty-two years. Currently, Allerton teaches 5th, 6th, and 7th grade accelerated Language Arts. Baisier, Marie Davis English & Drama Teacher, Theatre Director Mrs. Baisier brings 28 years of educational experience to Holy Cross as she enters her first year on the faculty. She teaches English I, English I Honors, and Drama I, II, III, and IV. She earned a B.A. from Dominican College and graduated from St. Joseph High School (New Orleans) prior to that. Mrs. Basier has been named to the Who's Who Among America's Teachers (1996), received the Octavia Levert Non-Fiction Writing Award, is a published author, and was nominated to the USA Today All-Star Teacher team in 2006. | Battistella, Greg Athletic Director, Head Baseball Coach Mr. Battistella represents what it means to be enthusiastic about HC. As a graduate of Holy Cross (’88) and UNO (B.A. in Communications ’92), he brings a wealth of experience to the HC Family, serving as both Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach of the Tigers. In a phrase, Coach Bat bleeds Blue & Gold. He was a four-year letterman on the UNO Privateer Baseball team, where he played for the 1989 American South Conference Tournament Champions. After playing collegiately, he played one season for the Springfield Pallies (Springfield, Illinois), whose parent club was then the St. Louis Cardinals. He also served as the Development Director and Head Baseball Coach at Pope John Paul in Slidell, Louisiana for four years, winning three district championships and being named the Small Schools Coach of the Year by the Times Picayune in 2003. |

Carboni, Louis Middle School and High School Mathematics Mr. Carboni may no longer be actively coaching here at HC, but he will forever be known as "Coach" Carboni. Throughout his 27 years on the faculty and 34 years in teaching, Carboni, a native of New Orleans, has taught numerous math courses as well as being a long-time baseball coach. Math courses have included: Math for grades 5 through 7, Math 7 Accelerated, and Algebra I . His coaching career for the Tigers spanned a quarter century, and included being named the 1996 Class 5-A Coach of the Year and a 1982 American Legion State Championship. Prior to him arriving at Holy Cross back in 1981, Carboni was Head Baseball Coach at East St. John, De La Salle (1975-1978), and St. John Prep (1973-1975). He played baseball for Mid-City Junior College (New Orleans) where he earned All-Conference and All-American Honorable Mention honors, before finishing his collegiate career at Loyola - New Orleans, playing for local coaching legend Louis "Rags" Scheuermann. | lcarboni@holycrosstigers.com 
| Charboneau, Raymond High School History, Civics, Athletic Trainer, Senior Class Moderator "Coach Charb" enters his 20th year at Holy Cross, and serves as Social Studies teacher, Athletic Trainer, Senior Moderator, and Yearbook Moderator. He brings 34 years of teaching experience to Holy Cross and currently teaches Civics, American History Honors, and Civics Honors. Mr. Charboneau is a native of Schenectady, New York, and attended Linton High School before earning his B.S. from the State University College at Oneanta, New York and his Masters in Education from the University of New Orleans. In addition, he is a member of the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association, and is a contibuting photographer to the HC website.

Mrs. Claverie is Registrar and Assistant to the Director of Admissions. She served as the Assistant to the Headmaster during her first year at Holy Cross. Prior to working at Holy Cross, Mrs. Claverie was business manager at St. Ann Parish in Metairie where she was the volunteer coordinator of Vacation Bible School and Girl Scouts for more than 12 years. Ms. Claverie teaches both 5th and 7th grade Religion at Holy Cross. She is a graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School and earned a Religious Studies degree with a minor in Music and Liberal Arts from the University of Alabama. She has worked in education for three years, with this as her first at Holy Cross. Mrs. Codina enters her first year at Holy Cross and will serve as the Director of the Bengal Band and Assistant Director of the Tiger Band. A native of Lafayette, LA, she is a graduate of Comeaux High School. She was a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Loyola University-New Orleans with a Bachelor of Music Education. In addition, Mrs. Codina has performed as Principle Flutist with the Loyola Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, Principle Piccoloist with the Acadian Wind Symphony, Principle Flute in the CBDNA Intercollegiate Honor Band 2007, Theodore Presser Musician of the Year Award 2006 , Rev. R.J. McNaspy Musician of the Year Award 2005, Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women Sword of Honor, has studied flute with Mrs. Patti Adams and Dr. Andrea Loewy. She is also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women, Music Educators National Conference.

DesOrmeaux, Eric Dean of Men, Wrestling Coach
Mr. DesOrmeaux not only fills the difficult role of Dean of Men, but also must fill the rather large shoes of Wrestling Hall of Fame Inductee, Brother Melchior Polowy, as the Head Coach of the Tiger wrestling program. He has been in education for the past 7 years and enters his second year as an integral part of the Holy Cross Administration. He is a graduate of Holy Cross School, where he received the Holy Cross Man Award, the Tiger Award, and the Catholic Leadership Award. Following his time at 4950 Dauphine, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education (Social Studies) from Louisiana State University and a Masters of Education from the University of New Orleans. DiGange, Charles Headmaster
Mr. DiGange has served the Holy Cross Family as Headmaster since 2004. He has led Holy Cross through the toughest time in the history of the school, enduring the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, and initiating a plan to maintain the traditions of the institution even in a "rebuilding" mode. Prior to coming to his alma mater (Holy Cross Class of 1964), Mr. DiGange spent a decade as the Associate Vice President of the Division of Institutional Advancement at Loyola University New Orleans. In addition, he brings over 25 years of development experience to Holy Cross. During his first tenure (1968-1989) at 4950 Dauphine, he served as a member of the Holy Cross Administration, taught chemistry, algebra, trigonometry, general science, and physical education, and also served as Assistant Headmaster for Development. | Ellzey, Lonn High School History, Football Coach, Spring Golf Coach Mr. Ellzey is the Social Studies Department Chairman and teaches World History, Louisiana History, and Sports Management classes. Beginning his fourth year at Holy Cross, Ellzey, a Jesuit and U.N.O. (B.A.) graduate, has been an educator for the past 12 years. As the Tigers’ Offensive Line Coach, he is a member of the Louisiana High School Coaches Association and the Louisiana Football Coaches Association. Coach Ellzey is also the Head Golf Coach of the Tigers. His coaching career consists of positions at Archbishop Rummel as a varsity assistant and junior varsity head coach in football, assistant coach for track and assistant on the basketball staffs, along with being the Head Football Coach and Middle School Baseball Coach at St. Martin’s Episcopal in Metairie, LA. | |
Fonseca, Thomas Professional School Counselor Mr. Fonseca brings 6 years of post-secondary and 3 years of secondary education to Holy Cross. He currently serves as the Director of Counseling and Guidance. As a native of Houma, Louisiana, Fonseca graduated from Terrebonne High School before going on to earn his Bachelor's from Loyola University New Orleans and his Master's in both Educational Administration and School Counseling from the University of New Orleans. In addition, he earned a Doctoral Candidate in School Counseling at Mississippi State University. Besides his duties at HC, Fonseca is an Adjunct Instructor of Psychology and Sociology at Our Lady of Holy Cross College. He has earned numerous awards throughout his career, including: The Louisiana Counseling Association's Professional Contribution Award and Who's Who in Colleges and Universities. Mr. Ford is a newcomer to Holy Cross, but brings four years of experience to the school. He is a graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School, and earned his B.A. in Biology from Rhodes College and his Master's in biology from the University of New Orleans. In addition, he played both football and baseball at Rhodes College and was the varsity wide receivers coach and freshman baseball coach at Rummel. Mr. Ford will also be coaching the Tigers' freshman football and baseball teams.

Giambelluca, Louis Middle School Physical Education, Middle School History, 8th Grade Football Coach Mr. Giambelluca , a native of New Orleans, teaches Middle School History and Physical Education as well as holding the position of 8th Grade Football Coach and T.C.A.C. (Tiger Cub Athletic Club). He has been a big part of Holy Cross for the past 24 years and adds 49 years of teaching experience to the staff. He is a St. Aloysius graduate who completed his B.A. from Southeastern Louisiana. Coach Giambellucca is a member of the Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame, the American Legion, and was a intramural boxing champion at both L.S.U. and Southeastern. He has been a football coach at Holy Name of Mary (Asst. Coach), Behrman High School (Asst. Coach), O.P. Walker (Head Coach), and at HC (Head & Asst. Coach). Heller, Michael High School Mathematics, Fall Golf Coach, Head Tennis Coach Mr. Heller has spent all but one of his 37 years in education as part of the faculty of Holy Cross. He currently teaches Calculus, Advanced Math and Computer Science. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Southwest Louisiana (now known as U.L.L.) in Secondary Education, majoring in Math with a minor in English. Mr. Heller is also a Holy Cross Alum of the Class of 1966. He is the Tigers’ Golf Coach in the Fall and Tennis Coach in the Spring. | | Heller, Thomas High School English, 8th Grade Class Moderator Mr. Heller begins his 15th year at Holy Cross, and currently holds the important position of English Department Head. Additionally, he is the HC Karate Coach and the Director of the 8th Grade Center. He is an Alum of Holy Cross (1987), who earned his degree from the University of New Orleans in 1992. Mr. Heller has earned the Holy Cross Silver Medallion Award for Art and the Leadership Award at U.N.O. He is a member of the World Chanbara Federation, the United States Chanbara Association as a Louisiana representative from 2001-2007, and the United States karate Alliance as a World Judge from 2001-2007. Coach Heller has directed the Karate Team since 1997. As a martial arts competitor himself, he has received the following accolades: 1995 - USA-NKF Regional (Gold Beginner), 1996 - USANILF Regional (Silver Intermediate), 1997 - USA-NKF Regional (Bronze Advanced), 2001 & 2004 USKA World Champion (Black Belt), and the 2002 USKA Runner-up World Champion (Black Belt). |

Hotard, Meredith Choral Director
Mrs. Hotard will serve as first year Choral Director, teaching 5th, 6th, and 7th Grade Chorus I & II. She is a graduate of both Mandeville High School and Loyola University New Orleans (Bachelor of Music Therapy/master of Music Education). Additionally, she is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the Music Educator's national conference, and a member of the New Orleans Theatre community.

As an alum of Holy Cross, Hrapmann brings 13 years of experience back to our historic institution. He attended Northwestern State, Nicholls State and U.N.O., earning a Business Administration degree. Additionally, he is linebacker coach and off-season program director on the football staff, and is the Powerlifting Coach. Coach Hrapmann has coached at St. Mary’s, Nicholls State, Natchitoches, Eunice, Jesuit and Destrehan. He played football for Northwestern State, earning All-GSC honors along with having the highest g.p.a. for defensive backs three times. Hunnicutt, Lisa Middle School and High School Executive Assistant
Mrs. Hunnicutt is an executive assistant to the Middle and High School Principals, and is in charge of attendance on a daily basis. She is a graduate of Cabrini High School in New Orleans and currently resides in LaPlace. Mrs. Hunnicutt is in her 6th year at Holy Cross, and her husband and two sons are Alumni.

Illanne, Charles Webmaster Mr. Illanne is in his first year at Holy Cross where he is the Director of Public Relations and Webmaster. He is an HC Alum and obtained his B.A. in Broadcast-Journalism with a minor in Sociology from L.S.U. While at L.S.U., he worked as a student-assistant in the Sports Information Department, and was the primary media relations contact for the Men's and Women's Golf and Swim Teams. He has interned at FOX-8 Sports and worked for the Convention & Visitor's Channel, WHNO-TV 20, WUPL-UPN 54, and Nelsen Video Production. | Irwin, Warren Art, Asst. Football Mr. Irwin is a native New Orleanian who enters his first year at Holy Cross. He is a graduate of Country Day School and has worked in education for the past five years. He will teach Art I, II, III, and IV as well as Art Survey and Eighth Grade Art. In addition, he will coach Middle School Football. Mr. Irwin earned his B.A. in Art from Trinity University in Texas, and his Master's in Teaching Art from Jacksonville University (Florida). While at Trinity, Mr. Irwin was a member of the football team as well. He also earned art teacher fellowships at Kansas City Art Institute, Columbia University Teacher's College, and Skidmore College. Kitchen, Brian Admissions Director, Head Soccer Coach
Mr. Kitchen enters his tenth year in education and his eighth at Holy Cross, New Orleans. He is a graduate of Brother Martin High School, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of New Orleans. Mr. Kitchen is the Director of Admissions, Head Soccer Coach, and Student Activities Coordinator.

 | Kornick, Ronnie Asst. Baseball Coach, Business, Religion 11, Speech 11 Mr. Kornick is in his first year at HC as both a teacher and assistant baseball coach. He earned a B.A. in Communications from Southeastern Louisiana University where he also played baseball and was team captain in 1997. He coached 4 seasons at Archbishop Hannan High School, three of which ended with district titles and quarterfinal playoff berths. While at Hannan, he also served as Athletic Director, overseeing boys and girls athletics. Coach Kornick has also coached at the collegiate level as a grad assistant at Southeastern and as an assistant at Laredo Junior College (Texas), where the team made the post-season for the first time in 12 years. | | Lagarde, Gerard Director of Development Mr. Lagarde functions as the Director of Development for Holy Cross. He is an Alum of Holy Cross who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southeastern Louisiana University. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Louisiana Society of CPA’s. Mrs. LeMay, a native of St. Bernard Parish, has spent 10 of her 12 years as an educator as a member of the Holy Cross Faculty. She teaches English II, English II Honors, English III Honors and English I. As a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Chalmette, she went on to earn a B.A. in Liberal Arts from L.S.U., a M.A. in English Literature from the University of New Orleans, and is pursuing her Ed.D. in English. | Lyons, Sue Ellen High School Science, Science Department Head
Sue Ellen Lyons teaches Earth Science, Environmental Science and Geology as well as serving as Science Department Chair and Assistant Athletic Director. She has been teaching at HC since 1978 and is currently in her 30th year. Ms. Lyons is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at Herzing College, New Orleans and Online campuses. She also teaches Science Methods classes at the University of New Orleans. Ms. Lyons has developed and published multiple environmental curricula including the award-winning Lessons on the Lake: An Educator's Guide to the Lake Pontchartrain Basin and Spirit of the Estuary: Integrating Art and Ecology. She serves on the Education Committees of the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation and A Studio in the Woods. During her career, Sue Ellen has received awards at the local, state and national levels, including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching and the National Wetlands Educator of the Year Award.

Marwah, Harlivleen High School English
Mrs. Marwah is a High School Language Arts teacher here at Holy Cross. She has taught for seven years, and the 2007-08 school year is her second at HC. Specifically, she teaches English IV and Speech. He has spent a quarter century in education, earning Area II Principal of the Year (1997-98) of Orleans Public Schools as well as High School Principal of the Year for Orleans Parish (2001-02). Dr. Murry is a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, New Orleans, earned his B.A. from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (presently ULL), a Masters from Southeastern Louisiana University, and his Ph.D. from the University of New Orleans. While attending U.S.L., he was the Gulf States Conference Champion in the shot put and was the captain of the Ragin’ Cajun Track Team. He also competed as a member of the Weightlifting Team where, as the team’s captain, he set 4 national heavyweight records en route to a National Championship. His other weightlifting accolades include: Champion 1968 (set 3 national records), AAU Sr. National Champion 1968 (set 2 national records); All-American Weightlifting Team 1968; YMCA National Champion 1972; 1972 Olympic Trials (3rd place Heavyweight). Dr. Murry was an assistant coach in football, Head Tennis & Soccer coach, and the Athletic Director at Abramson High School, before being promoted to Principal of the New Orleans school. Nicoladis, Maria Social Studies, History Ms. Nicoladis teaches 5th Grade Social Studies and 11th Grade U.S. History in her first year at Holy Cross. Oxmann, Karen Registrar, Counseling Secretary Mrs. Oxmann is a native New Orleanian who serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Counseling Department. She has worked for Holy Cross in the capacities of bus driver (14 years), registrar (9 years), and guidance department secretary (4 years). In addition, she is an alumae of the Academy of the Holy Angels, and holds the honor of receiving the Holy Cross 20 Year Medallion. | |
Patin, Beth High School English, ACT Prep, Librarian Mrs. Patin serves as the Holy Cross Librarian, and enters her second year in that capacity. She is from Madison, Alabama where she graduated from St. Bernard Prep before moving to New Orleans to attend Loyola University. She earned bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology from Loyola prior to earning her MLIS with specialization in School Media Centers from the LSU School of Library & Information Science.. Throughout her 8 year career in education, Patin has worked tirelessly to make sure the necessary tools students require to succeed are made available to them. This past year, her efforts were rewarded with a $50,000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation to assist with the purchasing of books that were lost due to Hurricane Katrina. In addition, she has been awarded the John & Hester Slocum Fellowship (LSU), earned her way on the Dean’s List, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She is a member of the Louisiana Library Association, the American Library Association and will serve as the Holy Cross Quiz Bowl Team coach beginning with the 2007-08 school year.

Rebaudo, Eric High School Physical Education, Football Coach Mr. Rebaudo is the Department Head of the Holy Cross Physical Education Department, teaches Algebra I, and is the Summer Camp Director. He has spent the past decade working in education, with the last 5 years on the faculty of Holy Cross. Rebaudo is a graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School, and he received his Accounting Degree from L.S.U. He is the Assistant Head Football Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and Head Track Coach for the Tigers.  | Rodi, Tony High School Religion, Psychology, Sociology, Director of Campus Ministry, Peer Ministry Moderator Mr. Tony Rodi has become a household name among the Holy Cross Family. Raised in Ostrica, Louisiana, Rodi has taught at his Alma Mater for the past 18 years. He has educated young men through his Psychology, Sociology and Religious Studies courses. His career in education, which has spanned 28 years, began with his studies at Holy Cross School - New Orleans, and then earned his degree from Our Lady of Holy Cross College - New Orleans. In addition, Rodi is the moderator of the Peer Ministers.

| Ruel, Julie Counselor for Grades 9, 10, 11
Mrs. Ruel joins the Holy Cross Counseling Staff for 2007-2008, and will serve as the counselor for all freshmen, sophomores and juniors. She is a graduate of Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a MEd. in Counselor Education. Mrs. Ruel is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. Schoen, Rebecca Middle School Counselor Mrs. Schoen is in her first year with Holy Cross as a key member of the Counseling Department. She will oversee all aspects of counseling and guidance for the Middle School, to include grades 5-8. She is a graduate of Archbishop Hannan High School in Meraux and a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. | Simpson, Scott High School Physical Education, Geography, Football Coach
Mr. Simpson has spent 6 of his thirteen years teaching at Holy Cross. He is an Alum of Brother Martin High School and earned his B.A. in Communications from L.S.U. He currently teaches World Geography, 20th Century History and Journalism, and serves as the moderator of the Holy Cross Bulletin. Simpson has worked his way up the football coaching ranks to the position of Offensive Coordinator for the Tigers. Positions he has held have included: Defensive Backs Coach at HC (1994-1995), Quarterbacks & Wide Receivers Coach at Jesuit (1995-2000), Offensive Coordinator at Brother Martin (2000-2001), and Receivers Coach back at HC (2001-2005).

 | Sixkiller, Darlene Development Assistant Mrs. Sixkiller has been with Holy Cross for 25 years and currently serves as an Administrative Assistant with the Development Department. She is a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School and Spencer Business College. Mrs. Sixkiller is an important part of the Office of Development, assisting with events such as Family Day, the Annual Alumni Golf Tournament, the Alumni Fishing Rodeo, the Blue & Gold Gala, the Annual Ladies Luncheon, Alumni Reunions and the day-to-day functions of Alumni Giving. | |
Sonier, Jay Executive Assistant to the Headmaster
Mrs. Sonier begins her first year as the Executive Assistant to Headmaster, Charles DiGange. Before attending the University of New Orleans, Mrs. Sonier graduated from the Academy of the Holy Angels. She worked most recently in development and alumni relations for the past 15 years, and she previously taught religious education classes. Turner, Dale High School Mathematics, Swim Coach, Mu Alpha Theta Moderator Mr. Turner enters his second year at Holy Cross as both teacher and the Head Swimming Coach. A graduate of New Site High School (New Site, Mississippi) Mr. Turner earned a degree in Biological Engineering from Mississippi State University. | | Thomson, Catherine Controller Mrs. Thomson has been with Holy Cross since January of 2007. Mrs. Thomson is a graduate of Thomasville High School, Thomasville, Georgia. She earned her B.S. in Finance from Auburn University and went on to complete the Pre-CPA program at the University of New Orleans. He has spent half of his eight years in education here at Holy Cross. Waller, Timothy Middle School Religion, Middle School Science, Basketball Coach Coach Waller is in his third year on the Tigers Staff, and is in his fifth year teaching. Waller teaches Science for 5th, 6th, and 7th grades. He is a graduate of both St. Augustine High School and Louisiana State University. While at L.S.U., he was selected as a Deep South All-American in Rugby. | Watson, Julianne Middle School Drama, Math, and Religion Ms. Watson may be new to the Holy Cross Faculty, but she and her family are no newcomers to the Holy Cross Family. She currently teaches 5th grade Math, 5th and 6th grade Drama, and 7th grade Religion. She also serves as the Tiger Cheerleading Moderator. Prior to earning her B.S. in Educational Studies from Loyola University New Orleans, she graduated from Mt. Carmel Academy in New Orleans. Wilson was an All-SEC selection, and he was a member of Tiger teams that competed in the Sugar and Cotton Bowls.
