Announcements for 9/18/2017
Posted by: Holy Cross Announcements on 09/18/2017

Attention all 8th-12th grade students: Remember tomorrow is activity period so you should report to your club tomorrow after first period. Any student who is looking to switch clubs must see the moderator of the clubs. Please do not see Mr. Ferry. The moderators are the ones who know if there is room in their club for you to switch.

Attention all 8th-12th grade students: The Homecoming Court nomination packets are due this Friday. Again packets are due this Friday. You can print a packet from the website by looking for the Homecoming banner and then clicking on it or by seeing Mr. Ferry or Mrs. Gonzales. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Ferry or Mrs. Gonzales.

Attention all homerooms: The new spirit banners for this week should be hanging up in the coming days. This week's opponent is the Shaw Eagles. Administration would like to congratulate last week's winner - Mr. Collick's homeroom for the great design.

Attention all students: If you would like to turn in a Homecoming shirt design idea - they must be turned in by Friday to Mr. Ferry. The winning design will receive a free Homecoming ticket, their name on the shirt and a free shirt. If the winner is a middle school student then they will receive a free lunch for the week of Homecoming. See Mr. Ferry for more information. Remember all shirt designs must be appropriate in nature.

Attention student council members: There is a mandatory meeting during high school lunch. Again, there is a mandatory meeting during high school lunch today.

Attention Middle School Quiz Bowl Members: New and Returning:

There will be a meeting this Wednesday from 2:50 pm until 3:40 pm in room M103. At this point we have 5 members to create a team, but it would be even better to have more than one team!

5th,6th, & 7th graders are encouraged to join. If you are unable to attend this meeting, email Mr. Hanemann.

There's a mystery to be solved in the Conservatory! Did Professor Plum commit the act? Did you bump someone off their space...then you must be playing the game of Sorry!

You could even play a game of UNO...it's a card game, but it counts. Even better, what about a game of Monopoly? Just try to get Boardwalk before everyone else.

All this can happen at the Board Game Club--open to 5th and 6th graders. The first meeting will be this FRIDAY in room M103. There will be a sign up sheet at Mr. Hanemann's room if you are interested--the first 15 to sign up will become members.

Attention all 8th-10th graders, your first ever Spring Semi-Formal Dance will take place Saturday March 11th here at HC. Cost of the dance is only $25 per couple. This is the first ever one of its kind so come out and have a great time. Formal pictures will be available by Pat Garin. A photo booth will be available for more casual pictures for free. Drinks will also be made available.

Attention all seniors going on the retreat this week, instead of going to your assigned activity period, you need to report to the Watson family Theatre. The Comedy Club will meet under the Oaks during the Activity Period.

Attention students interested in student council, elections will take place in march. Therefore if you are interested in running, please see Mr. Ferry as soon as possible.

Attention juniors and seniors, Tuxedos to Geaux will be coming on campus the Wednesday after the Mardi Gras break to fit students for tuxedos for the upcoming proms. This service is an awesome way to save money. The cost of the tuxedo is $169 but it is a purchase and not a rental. Therefore, as a junior, if you purchase one, you will have it for senior year and save yourself the rental fee. Information will be sent out to the parents this week.

It is that time of the year - Slam-n-Jam time. Holy Cross has taken home the trophy two years in a row and look to make it three. HC has five team slots available. Cost to form a team is $100 plus the cost of the shirts. See Mr. Ferry for more information. The teams are on a first come first serve basis so whoever turns in their forms and money first gets the slot.

The Library will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 21 after school.

Come out and support your Varsity Tiger Bowlers as they compete against Brother Martin at Colonial Lanes today for 3:25. Good Luck, Tigers!
