Application Process
 
 
Primary Grades (Pre-K through 4th Grade)
Step 1. Complete online application and pay the $50 application fee.
Step 2. Submit the following supporting documents to the Admissions Office or upload them with the online application:
Step 3. Admissions Testing/Interviews
  • All applicants will attend a Play Day/Testing Day at Holy Cross Primary supervised and observed by our early childhood professionals.
  • Play Days and Testing Days will be scheduled through the Admissions Office once the application, fee, and required supporting documents are received.
Step 4. The Director of Admissions reviews all applications, and decisions are made based on the records submitted and personal interviews with each student candidate.
Application Dates:
  • Applications open: September 5, 2017
  • Priority Application Deadline: December 5, 2017
  • Priority Notification Letters Mailed: January 5, 2018
Middle School Grades (5th-7th Grade)
Step 1. Complete online application and pay the $30 application fee.
Step 2. Submit the following supporting documents to the Admissions Office or upload them with the online application:
Step 3. Admissions Interviews
  • Prospective students and families meet with a member of the Admissions Committee for a brief interview.
  • Interviews will be scheduled with the Admissions Office once the application, fee, and required supporting documents are received.
Step 4. The Admissions Committee reviews all applications, and decisions are made based on the records submitted and personal interviews with each student candidate.
Application Dates:
  • Middle School Application Deadline: December 1, 2017
  • Middle School Interviews: December 12-14, 2017
  • Middle School Notification Letters Mailed: January 12, 2018
High School Grades (8th-10th Grade)
Step 1. Archdiocese High School Application
Applications for 8th grade begin with the Archdiocese of New Orleans application process. If your son attends 7th Grade in an Archdiocese of New Orleans Catholic school, his school will automatically send his academic records to Holy Cross. If your son attends 7th grade at a non-Catholic school, you will need to submit an Archdiocesan Application along with his current report card, previous two years of report card, and previous two years of standardized test scores.

If your son is applying to 9th or 10th grades, skip to step two.

Archdiocese 8th Grade Application (Will be available November 13, 2017)
Step 2. Complete the Holy Cross online application and pay the $30 application fee.
Note: Along with the Holy Cross application, 9th and 10th grade applicants must submit a current report card, previous two years of report cards, and previous two years of standardized test scores. 10th Grade applicants must also present recommendation(s) from either the school’s principal or two of his teachers. Holy Cross School rarely accepts applications for students entering 11th or 12th grade (contact our admissions office for details). No applicant is allowed to repeat a grade upon entering Holy Cross School.
Step 3. Submit the following supporting documents to the Admissions Office or upload them with the online application:
Step 4. Admissions Interviews
  • Prospective students and families meet with a member of the Admissions Committee for a brief interview.
  • Interviews will be scheduled with the Admissions Office once the application, fee, and required supporting documents are received. Interviews will be scheduled January 9-11, 2018 during the evening.
Step 5. High School Application Day
All 8th grade applicants must attend High School Application Day on January 6, 2018.
Step 6. The Admissions Committee reviews all applications, and decisions are made based on the records submitted and personal interviews with each student candidate.
Application Dates:
  • Archdiocese Applications distributed and posted online: November 13, 2017
  • Archdiocese Applications complete and returned to elementary school: November 15, 2017
  • High School Application Deadline; applications and records forwarded from elementary school to Holy Cross: November 17, 2017
  • High School Application Day: All incoming 8th grade students are required to be at Holy Cross School for placement testing: January 6, 2018
  • High School Interviews: January 9-11, 2018
  • High School Notification Letters Mailed: February 22, 2018
