August 2016

Welcome to another great year at Holy Cross. I hope you had a relaxing summer and are ready for the challenges ahead. This year we are focused on building, our theme is Building Respect. Respect is living by the Golden Rule “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” The key to respect is to see the face of Christ in every encounter. Our founder, Fr. Basil Moreau, said regarding respect we must “see in all only the image of God imprinted within them like a sacred seal which you must preserve at all costs.” Having respect for ourselves and others requires courage, honesty, trust, and caring. Respect is an attitude we learn through experience. Our role models teach us to respect others. Being respectful helps us to succeed. Building respect involves building a strong community. It involves relationships. One of our goals this year is to help your son become a respectful Holy Cross Man. As we strengthen this relationship, please remember we are working together for your son’s future. Thank you for allowing us to share in your son’s journey.
