Tiger Cross Country Takes 2nd Place at Region 3-5A Championship

The Tiger Cross Country Team emerged as the runner up in the Region 3-5A Championship, held Friday, November 3 at City Park. Brother Martin placed 1st, only 16 points ahead of Holy Cross.  The Tigers emerged from this race with a steely determination, their eyes set firmly on the State Championship race on November 14 in Natchitoches.

Everyone knows it is a bad idea to provoke a Tiger. Unlike other sports, the quality of a cross country team is determined by a series of races at the very end of the season; a team's success relies on peaking at the precise moment, running their finest performance in the ultimate race.  Other teams in the state have already run their best for the year -- their seasons are already over.  Everyone knows a Tiger is patient, waiting as long as necessary for the perfect strike.

An impressive run from our scoring five Tigers made this second place finish possible, with Blake Baldassaro in 3rd, Cade Martin in 4th, Joshua Raiford in 9th, Adam Sequeira in 12th, and Chris Wagner in 13th.  Holy Cross will travel to Natchitoches for the LHSAA 5A State Championship on Tuesday 11/14.  Please keep your Tiger Cross Country Team in your prayers.  Go Tigers!
