Congratulations to Holy Cross Baseball Coach Cass Hargis for being named to Southeastern’s 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame. Hargis, a native of Meraux, Louisiana, patrolled the outfield for the Lions from 2008-11. At the conclusion of his four years under then-head coach and current Director of Athletics Jay Artigues, Hargis left as the program's career leader in hits (299), runs (217), triples (18) and games played (232).
Hargis also ranks among the school's career leaders in doubles (54, 2nd), RBI (146, 6th), walks (106, 5th) and hit-by-pitch (34, 5th). A 2010 All-Southland Conference selection, Hargis earned Freshman All-America accolades from Louisville Slugger and Ping! Baseball. Like Connors, Hargis has also returned to his alma mater following his playing days, as he is currently the head baseball coach at Holy Cross High School.
The Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame inductees are elected by an eight-member selection committee.
