Don't forget we have begun our school supply drive in conjunction with our armed forces. The school supply drive will go until next Thursday May 24. There are stations set up in the high school building, the middle school building, and the 8th grade center ready for your used school supplies. Remember, instead of throwing your used materials away please donate them to this worthy cause.
Supplies that can be donated:
Pens, pencils, paper, folders, binders, color pencils, notebooks, pencil sharpeners, rulers, and erasers.
Please do not throw trash or textbooks in these boxes.

There will be a brief meeting today after school in M103 about the upcoming Awards Banquet. If you bowled this semester or last, then please plan on attending the meeting. It will only last a few minutes. See Coach Ducote if you have any questions or are unable to attend.

Athletic Awards Nights - Baseball & Track/Field

The awards ceremony for Varsity Baseball and Track & Field will be held on Thursday, May 31st at 6 pm in the Huddle.

Attention all students:
Later on this week we will begin our end of the year school supply drive through Operation Homefront. Operation Homefront is a non-profit organization that has numerous programs that support our troops who defend our freedom. All supplies that are collected will be distributed by our troops to kids in worn torn areas to build a good rapport within the communities that they are stationed. So as you begin to clean out your lockers please donate and don't throw away.
Supplies that are needed:
Pens, pencils, markers, highlighters, crayons, looseleaf, notebooks, binders, and folders.
There will be a table set up with boxes for your donations outside the Highschool and Middleschool offices and one in the 8th Grade Center.
Please see Coach Jackson if you have any questions.

Summer Enrichment Registration

5/15/2012

Educational research shows that students who participate in appropriate academic summer enrichment are better prepared for school. Holy Cross will provide a summer enrichment program targeting the following areas:
For Grades 5-10
Math—2012-13 school year 5th, 6th, 7th and pre-Algebra and Algebra students
English/language arts—2012-13 school year 5th, 6th and 7th, students and writing skills at the high school level
Study/test taking skills—middle and high school

The program will be held July 2,3,5,6 and July 9-12 from 9:00 a.m. till noon. Students will be scheduled each day for one hour of math, one hour of English/language arts, and one hour of study/test taking skills. The curriculum will help students return to school with a confident and positive outlook on the new school year. Classes will be limited to 20 students per class. Students will be accepted at each level on a first come/first served basis.

The cost of the program will be $80 per student for the 8 day session.

Jeremy Arnold Selected in Top 10 Offensive Tackles in LA

Congratulations to junior Jeremy Arnold who was ranked 5th on the Top 10 Offensive Tackles in LA list by football analyst Lee Breechen! Your HC Family is proud of you!

5.) Jeremy Arnold (6-4, 285) - Holy Cross High School

This kid has it to become a really good DI OT or OG in college. That “it” is toughness and strength. When you watch Jeremy play you see a talented big kid who loses very few battles pass and run blocking because he’s so strong and tough at the point of attack. There are times where his hands, feet, strength, aggression, and smarts are there for blocking. Jeremy just needs to be more consistent and work on getting lower on run blocks and pass blocking. I think he’s a big time DI player, and if he improves in these areas he can be a great one in college. I just love his tenacity on the field. He was born to play OL.

Attention Mr. DuMouchel's 1st and 2nd Semester Art Students:
All artwork is now released to go home. If you want your work, you must remove it by 3:30 pm Wednesday. Any artwork not removed by Wednesday at 3:30pm will be recycled or disposed of at the discretion of Mr. DuMouchel. If your work is in one of the display cabinets on campus, you must inform one of the following people prior to removing your work. Mr. DuMouchel for Admin Bldg, Ms. Susie for Middle School, and Ms. Hunnicutt for High School. Any questions should be directed to Mr. DuMouchel.

HC Baseball Wins State Runner-Up Spot!

Congratulations to Coach Battistella, his staff, and the HC Tiger varsity baseball team for their exciting run to the state playoffs, culminating in the runner-up spot. The Tigers fought their way to the finals, beating the #1 seeded team. Thanks for a great season and good luck to our seniors as they move on to play in college. Your Holy Cross Family is very proud!
