Holy Cross Man Throws Out First Pitch

Four Holy Cross Tigers came together for a special night as the Loyola baseball team honored our military heroes and raised money for the Wounded Warrior Project. Staff Sgt. Timothy Clark ('99) threw out the first pitch and is seen here with two of his wife's former Tiger students, Brian Reaney ('11) and Lance Licciardi ('12) - not pictured is Harold Toscano ('09).

Congratulations to the 5th grade Baseball team on their semi-final victory over Christian Brothers yesterday by the score of 3-2... J.D. Wooten tossed a complete game on the mound and the baby Tigers used solid defense and timely hitting to advance to today's Catholic League championship game where they will face Stuart Hall at 4pm at the Fly.

Congratulations to former TIGERS Landon Jones and Trey Hooper as they received their conference championship rings from Rhodes College. Rhodes won its first conference championship since 1996 with the help of Landon and Trey. You continue to make us proud… Go Tigers!

The ACT test being administered on the Holy Cross campus will be administered on the first floor of the high school building. You will enter through the doors on the courtyard side of Donald Palmer Hall. Room assignments will be posted on the windows by those doors. There is no cell phone use allowed once you enter the testing room until testing is finished. If you have any questions, check with Mrs. Hrapmann.

Five Seniors Placed In The Annual project Hope Competition

Every year, the Brothers of Holy Cross holds their annual Project Hope competition. Project Hope is a competition for Holy Cross high school students to reflect on the teaching of Blessed Father Basil Moreau, CSC and express in writing, art, film and music the ways they can use their gifts and talents to bring hope to others. Congratulations to our five seniors who placed in this year’s project Hope competition. The winners were:
First Prize: Richie Saavedra – $250.00
Third Prize: Joel Dullary – $50.00
Fourth Prize: Justin Reimonenq, Marc Gibson, Kyle Mancuso – $25.00

Congratulations to the JV & JH Track Teams on their fine showing at the Chubby Marks Invitaitonal Meet!

The Junior Varsity Track team finished 3rd at the Chubby Marks Invitational
First Place Finishers were:

Congratulations to the 8th grade baseball team as they improved to 10-4-1 on the season. The Tigers defeated Jesuit 9-4 Wednesday at Tiger Park.
The Tigers collected 10 hits and were lead by Ashton Golding who was 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs and Mikey Ricks who was 2 for 3 with a 2 run home run and had 3 RBIs.
One the mound Mikey Ricks threw 6 and 2/3s innings with 3 Ks. Collin Burns secured the last out in relief.

Yesterday the Tigers defeated John Curtis 4-2.
Ashton Goldring got the win, going all 7 innings allowing just 2 runs, walking 0 and striking-out 8.
Offensively Jaden Moran had a big 2 RBI double to take the lead.

Next game is Saturday vs Slidell and Northshore starting at 10AM.

Congratulations to the 8th grade baseball team for their victory over John Curtis 4-2. Ashton Goldring got the win, going all 7 innings allowing just 2 runs, walking 0 and striking-out 8. Offensively Jaden Moran had a big 2 RBI double to take the lead. The Tigers play next on Saturday vs Slidell and Northshore starting at 10AM.

The Varsity tennis team beat Brother Martin yesterday in a 5 - 2 victory. Securing the win for the Tigers were Cameron Doles, Bryce Montalbano, Trevor Ramagos, and Will Pizzuto who all had wins in singles and doubles. Congratulations.

There will be a table outside the high school office today with lost items. Please pass by today to see if anything belongs to you. If you retrieve an item, let Ms. Hunnicutt know.

The HC vs Jesuit varsity baseball originally scheduled for Friday, April 11th has been moved to Thursday, April 10th and will be played at Maestri Field. First pitch is set for 6:00pm.
