Any student 8th through 12th grade who has a signed TOPS consent form from their parent, should turn them into your homeroom teacher now.

Attention all Basketball managers. There is a mandatory meeting with Coach Arvites in the Gym directly after school. The meeting is mandatory for all basketball managers and will take 5 minutes.

Attention all power lifters. We will have a brief meeting Friday November 21 (Tomorrow) immediately after school. the meeting will last 5-10 minutes.

Power lifters there will be a brief meeting after school tomorrow for about 15 minutes for the holiday season. REPEAT

Attention Seniors:

The first Senior Retreat will be held on Thursday December 4 when we get back from Thanksgiving break... If you are attending this retreat please turn your money and permission slip into Coach Jackson or Mr. Ferry by this Friday.

NASA Director Addresses Students

HC Alumnus Patrick Scheuermann, '82, Director of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, spoke to students this morning about his role in the agency and NASA's future space missions. The students in attendance were fascinated by Pat's presentation and learned about the many opportunities available to them with NASA.
Thanks, Pat! Your HC Family is very proud of you and grateful for the time you spent with our students.

The Tiger Cross Country team ended their season yesterday in Natchitoches, at the State meet, finishing 13th out of 47 teams. The young squad was led by freshman, Blake Baldassaro, placing 22nd individually. Following close behind was fellow freshman Adam Sequeira, sophomore Payne Espenan, senior Michael Lopiparo, sophomore Dominic Lincoln, sophomore Blake Desselle, and senior Kobe Dumas.

Congratulations to the Varsity Golf Team, who closed out the Fall season with a 6-2 record with a victory over Brother Martin. The Tigers defeated the Crusaders 160-167. Sophomore Peter Hansen shot even par 36 to lead the Tigers. 8th grader Jay Beatmann shot 4 over par 40, Sophomore Derek Bowens shot 5 over par 41, Senior Marloes Booker shot 7 over par 43, and Senior Nick Tamplain shot 8 over par 44 to round out the scoring. The Tiger golf team will begin the spring season in March.

Any student with a TCAC soccer envelope should bring it to the office at this time.

Quiz Bowl meeting is canceled today, but next week we will begin meeting again twice weekly, Monday until 3:10pm and Wednesday until 3:30pm.

In addition to the regular Spirit Shop hours for the week of October 27, 2014, the Spirit Shop will be opened on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 7:30am - 3:30pm. Tickets for Friday night's football game will be on sale beginning Monday during lunch periods.

Looking for a good scare to put you in the mood for Halloween? From the author who brought you Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes the movie adaption of Roald Dahl's The Witches. Film Club will show The Witches from 2:40pm-4:15pm this Thursday in room H102. All students are welcome to attend and concessions will be sold.

Holy Cross Soccer Tryouts for all 8th graders through 12th graders will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 and Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at PAC on the westbank from 4:00pm-6pm. ALL players wishing to tryout must attend both sessions unless otherwise organized with Coach Hayers.
Middle school soccer tryouts for 5th, 6th and 7th graders will be held tTuesday, November 4, 2014 and Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 2:45pm-4:15pm on the middle school field.
All players must wear soccer cleats, shin guards and appropriate soccer clothing. You should also bring a pumped up soccer ball.

We have received a very important service opportunity for our school community to get involved in. Not only will you earn service hours, but you will also have the opportunity to minister to the poor and the less fortunate. Alum Mike Emig has invited us to come to Ozanam Inn on Sunday November 23 to serve their annual Thanksgiving meal to the homeless. Congratulations to the Junior High Football Team on its 14-0 victory over St. Aug. Chandler Fields connected on touchdown passes to Celven Hulbert and Gerard Heirsch, and the Tiger defense received strong performances from Dominic Lamm and Colby Brown as it recorded its second straight shutout.

TCACplayoffs begin tomorrow with the Titans taking on the Ravens followed by the Broncos and Seahawks. The Browns will take on the winner of the Broncos- Seahawks and the Colts will take on the winner of the Titans and Ravens, Those games will be on a day and time to be determined next week.

The Holy Cross Beach Volleyball ended their regular season with a win against Jesuit. The team of Evan Cory and Seth Braquet dominated again winning 21-11 and 21-14, while the team of Max Heidingsfelder, Nick Tamplain, Cameron Director, and Austen Bailey won both games in a close match. The Tigers finish the fall season with a 2 and 2 record.

Soccer tryouts for 8th grade through 12th grade has been moved from this week to next week. Tryouts will still be held at PAC from 4:00pm-6:00pm Monday, October 27, 2014 and Tuesday, October 28, 2014.
Again tryouts for tonight have been rescheduled. All those wanting to play must attend tryouts or email Coach Stu with any questions.

The Metro Flag Football team defeated Trinity 21-0 yesterday and improved their record to 3-2. The offense was led by Bryce Gauthier, Todd Canatella, and Peyton Buras. The defense collected two more interceptions on their way to a shut-out. The next game is today against Country Day at LaSalle Park for 5:00pm.

In the last regular season games of TCAC yesterday, the Colts captured the number 2 seed in the playoffs edging the Ravens 39 to 33. In the second game, the Titans moved in to the number 3 seed shutting out the Panthers 25 to 0. The playoffs will begin this Friday, October 24th with the Titans taking on the Ravens at 2:45pm followed by the Broncos and Seahawks.

A representative from St. Louis University located in Missouri will be on campus tomorrow, October 22, 2014to answer your questions. All high school students interested in learning more about this university are invited to attend.

Attention Lacrosse members.... practice starts next Wednesday after school at Pratt Park until 4:30pm and on Saturday 25, 2014 at the football practice field from 10:00am -12:00pm.

Soccer tryouts for 8th grade through 12th grade has been moved from this week to next week. Tryouts will still be held at PAC from 4:00pm-6:00pm next Monday, October 27, 2014 and Tuesday, October 28, 2014 (oct 27 & 28).
Again tryouts for tonight have been rescheduled. All those wanting to play must attend tryouts or email coach Stu with any questions.

Attention all students: In honor of Homecoming Week, during the middle school lunch and high school lunch there will be a competitive game. Today is accuracy throw. Come out and see who is the best. Games will be held by the Oaks. Homecoming shirts are on sale in the Spirit Shop. Cost is $15. Let's show Brother Martin who is the real ONE in New Orleans. Homecoming tickets are on sale in the Student Activities Office. The dance is being held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Cost is $40 a couple or $20 an individual. The dance is from 8-11pm on Saturday.

Our Homecoming game is tonight at Tad Gormley against Brother Martin. Come out and support your Tigers.

Attention students who nominated a girl for Homecoming Court: if you would like the copy of the picture Pat Garin took, please stop by the Student Activities Office to pick it up.

Calling all Chess Masters and would be Chess Masters. We are organizing a Chess Club for 5-12 graders. Practices will be held each week with the goal of competing against other schools. HC alum Mr.James Rousselle is a Chess Master and will be the Chess Club Coach. Please stop by the Guidance Office this week and let Mrs. Hrapmann know if you would like to be in the club. The Library will be closed after school, Thursday, October 16, 2014.

The deadline to turn in Box Tops is October 27, 2014. The two homerooms leading the Box Tops contest are 12th grade - Ms. Lyons and 6th grade - Ms.Nicoladis. The two homerooms that bring in the most Box Tops will receive donuts.

Attention all Juniors and Seniors: Balfour will be here immediately after school to collect and forms or payments that were not turned in last month. They will be in the Student Activities Office (not the Atrium)... again in the Student activities Office.

In TCAC games yesterday, the Titans picked up their 5th win with a 32 to 27 win over the 49'ers. In the second game, the Broncos ended their regular season at 5 and 3 edging the Seahawks 33 to 27. The last games of the regular season are on Monday with the Colts taking on the Ravens followed by the Panthers and Titans.

Attention all Students: The Student Center will be closed immediately following dismissal for Open House prep. There will be no access to the Atrium. Please use appropriate exterior stairwells for access to 2nd and 3rd floors. Thanks.

Open House is around the corner! Students, please sign up in the Admissions Office to serve as a Tiger Ambassador.
Tiger Ambassador Training Dates are:
Tuesday, October 14: 11th – 12th Grade
Wednesday, October 15: All Ambassadors who have not yet received training. Grades 5 - 12 can attend on this day.
Students, you will need to report to the Huddle during homeroom on these days. It is important you sign up first before attending the meetings. You will miss the first few minutes of your second period class for training. Please let your teachers know in advance. Again, please sign up in the Admissions Office to represent your school as a Tiger Ambassador!


TCAC games today are the 49'ers vs. the Seahawks followed by the Colts and Broncos.

Reminder! A representative from Southeastern University will be visiting campus today during the high school lunch in the Student Center Atrium.

We will also have a representative from the University of Alabama at Birmingham on campus tomorrow, October 14th.
