The Holy Cross Men's Club would like to invite you to the Holy Cross Crawfish Boil and Fun Day on Saturday April 30, 2016 from 12:00PM - 7:00PM. Come enjoy live bands, games, and space walks.

The library is closed today, students are not allowed in the library today.

There will be NO SHUTTLE BUS today & Friday 4/30.

Attention all members of the freshman baseball team: There will be a meeting next Monday, May 2nd at during high school lunch in the student center will information about summer baseball. All members of this year's freshman team must attend.

Attention all student athletes...we will be holding our annual Physical Day on Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the Student Center from 2:30pm until 4:30pm. The cost of the physical is $25.00. If you play ANY sport at HC, you will need a physical. Please visit the school website for more information.

Attention Varsity Football Players: Practice today has been cancelled. Practice tomorrow will take place as scheduled.

Attention Board Game Club Members: A new game has arrived: Clue.

We will have a meeting Friday, from 3:15pm to 4:10pm in room M103 to try out this new game. This game play is eligible to those who have been a member since the beginning.

Video Game Club is cancelled for this week. Regular weekly meetings will resume next week. Again, there will be no Video Game Club meeting this week.

The Holy Cross Beach Volleyball team plays its final games of the season this Wednesday at White Sands beach volleyball complex in Metairie. Come out to watch Evan Cory & your Tigers take on Brother Martin and Jesuit in an attempt to bring home their 4th championship trophy. Games start at 4:30pm. Go Tigers!

The library will be closed Thursday, April 28.

There will be NO SHUTTLE BUS on Thursday 4/29 & Friday 4/30.

Video Game Club is cancelled for this week. Regular weekly meetings will resume next week.

The Holy Cross Beach Volleyball team plays its final games of the season this Wednesday at White Sands beach volleyball complex in Metairie. Come out to watch Evan Cory & the Tigers take on Brother Martin and Jesuit in an attempt to bring home their 4th championship trophy. Games start at 4:30pm. Go Tigers!

Congratulations to the Varsity Golf Team, which ended the season with a 5th place finish in the Division 1, Region 2, District 4 Golf Tournament. The Tigers were led by junior Peter Hansen and freshman Jay Beatmann. A strong performance was also turned in by sophomore Collin Tregre.

Attention new student council members, there is a mandatory meeting today during high school lunch.

Before we begin our regular announcements we would like to remember in our thoughts and prayers, Coach Battistella's father Mr. Carol Battistella, who passed away this weekend. Mr. Carol was known here around school for his renditions of The Star Spangled Banner that he sang for HC's home baseball games from 2006 through 2015. Mr. Carol was 76.

The Holy Cross 6th Grade Baseball Team won the New Orleans Athletic League on Friday, April 22, in a victory against Christian Brothers School, by a score of 11 – 6.

The Championship Game hosted by Carrollton Boosters at their facility at The Fly opened up with a first pitch Bryce Gauthier solo home run, the Tigers stumbled in the bottom of the first inning by allowing 4 unearned runs, but that was the last time opposing team mounted a significant threat to the Tigers. Behind three strongly pitched innings by Bryce Gauthier and game finishing work by Eli LaFrance the Tiger bats picked where they left off the previous game where the beat the same team 9 - 7, led by homeruns by Roger Heirsch, Logan Butscher, and Bryce Gauthier, the Tigers had a combined 13 hits in a dominating victory.

Congratulations Tigers!

Congratulations to the 7th grade Gold baseball team for their 7-3 win over Christian Brothers yesterday, wrapping up an undefeated regular season. The team was led by outstanding pitching from John Wooten and timely hitting throughout the tigers lineup.

Congratulations to the Varsity tennis team for a good showing at the 5A Regional tournament this week. All the boys played well. Will Pizzuto and Trevor Ramagos qualified for State and Trevor made it to the Semi Finals. Let's wish these two players good luck at the state tournament in Monroe next week.

Hello Tiger Fans,

The Holy Cross 5th and 6th grade baseball teams would like all of you to come out and support them as they start the playoffs this week. Both teams are playing extremely well having defeated the #1 seeds (Trinity and Christian Brothers) this past week with convincing victories over both. Today the 5th grade team plays Christian Brothers for 4PM at Falcon Field and we need all the Tiger Fans out in full force! Let's show the Flacons what TIGER PRIDE is all about! Our 6th grade team will play tomorrow at 4PM at the FLY behind Audobon Zoo and we really need the support of TIGER NATION! Good luck to both teams and go Tigers!

Attention track members.... City Park has cancelled the JV/ Junior High meet because of the amount of water the track has taken on.

Attention Varsity Football Players: Conditioning will be cancelled for today. Workouts will continue tomorrow as scheduled.

Attention 10th Graders: Your retreat will be this Wednesday, April 13. Please turn in your permission slip into your Theology teacher as soon as possible. Dress code is as follows: Please wear a Holy Cross Shirt, No flip-flops, pajama pants or sweatpants. Please make sure you bring a bag lunch that day. Food will not be provided.

Mrs. Garrett's B and D period classes should report to H104. Assignment on Portal is for 10th graders on retreat on Wednesday. 9th grade should complete assigned sub assignment.

Congratulations to your Holy Cross Tigers for taking home the Slam n Jam championship banner for the 2nd year in a row this past weekend! The 5-man team of Evan Cory, Nathan Roberts, Spencer David, Greg Parker, and Chad Aucoin went undefeated for the day and beat a solid Brother Martin team in the finals to take home the banner. Congrats and go tigers!

The Spirit Shop will be closed Monday, April 11, 2016.

Attention all freshmen attending Monday's 9th grade field trip: The dress code for the day is a clean Holy Cross spirit shirt and shorts/pants with tennis shoes. The guidelines are the same as retreat days. NO sweatpants, NO sweat shorts, NO cut off sweat pants, NO joggers, and NO jeans or shorts with holes in them will be allowed. If you come dressed inappropriately, YOU WILL BE SENT HOME!

The library will be closed this Friday afternoon, April 8.

The Diversity Club will meet today during lunch in Mr. DuMouchel's classroom.

Beginning Monday, April 11, the Student Center will be closed for Gala setup. There will be no access through main doors. Students should use exterior stairwells.

The Upper Level Art Exhibit is this Friday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM prior to the opening of the play, Our Town. Visit the library and check out some excellent work from our AP, Art III and Art IV students.

Attention all freshmen: The deadline has been extended until tomorrow. You now have ONE EXTRA DAY to turn in ALL field trip permission slips, waivers, and fees. Please see Mrs. Clark or Coach White to turn your required forms in or to get another permission slip. TOMORROW is the LAST day!

Attention juniors running for student council: there is a MANDATORY MEETING during high school lunch tomorrow (Tuesday) in the Student Activities Office. You must be present at this meeting. Bring your lunch to the meeting!

Attention juniors who purchased tuxedos, the tuxedos will be here on Thursday and will be distributed after school in the Student Activities Office. Please make sure you come to pick up and pay for your tuxedo. See Mr. Ferry for more information.

Wednesday's discussion will center around Africa in the 1400's. Examining the Perceptions of African geography, history, and culture.

Attention all students... today is the day for you to cast your vote for the Tiger Awards. Students you are asked to take out your laptop right now and then log in. Once you have logged in, please check your email for the Mr. Arnone sent you. You must select ten of your fellow classmates that you feel represent the Holy Cross Man. Once you log in and vote, you will not be allowed to vote again. Again you are asked to do this right now!!!!! Teachers please make sure all students in your homeroom are voting.

The Club’s Goal is to give an understanding of what it means to be African-American. We will undertake the effects that African-Americans have caused an experienced in American culture. We’re beginning at Africa and the World. This is Perceptions of African geography, history, and culture, Geography of Africa, Civilizations, Institutions and culture and Africa in 1400.

Attention work study students... there is a mandatory work study meeting Tuesday morning at 7:30am in the Student Activities Office. Again this is mandatory so please make a note. If you have completed your hours you do not have to attend.

Today’s intramural dodgeball game is between Mr. Johnston’s GI Johnstons and Mrs. Morere’s Prison Inmates Bandits during the last 15 minutes of high school lunch.

Attention all juniors and seniors.... On Friday and Monday Tuxedos 2 Geaux will be on campus to have you fitted for your prom tuxedos for those interested. The cost of the tuxedo is $169 for the complete tux. For a junior, this will save you money since you will need a tuxedo next year or for your girlfriend's proms. No money is required to get fitted and you pay for the tux when they come in. Fittings will take place during the lunch periods.

Attention all juniors looking to run for Student Council, all forms are due by Friday. Again all forms are due by Friday. Stop by the activities office to pick up your form. Student Council is a great way to get involved in school. See Mr. Ferry for more details.

Attention Faculty and Students,
As a reminder, any cell phone seen or heard during school hours, specifically 7:00AM to 2:30PM, will be confiscated and brought to the Dean of Men’s Office. As an example, phones cannot be used to listen to music, text, or make phone calls during school hours. The only acceptable usage is to call home after school for pick up. Any student staying for tutoring or practice is governed by this rule as well.
The Handbook States:
The school requires that all cellular devices remain in the student’s locker during the school day. Any electronic or wireless communication device that is seen or heard will be confiscated and turned over to the dean of men, and the student will face disciplinary action. Equipment will be returned only at a parent conference.


Attention lacrosse players, lacrosse pictures are in and can be picked up in the student activities office. Again lacrosse pictures are in.

Attention seniors... if you did not pick up your Balfour order, please stop by the student activities office. REPEAT.

Attention. We only have three more days to reach our goal for the Fund the Fight campaign. Please raise as much money as you can be our deadline on Friday. Ms. Anne Chabreck is leading the way with 2 thousand dollars. In the middle school, Ms. Michelle Willis is leading in the Middle School and her homeroom brought in the most donations last week. Total Update: so far we have brought in 7,340 dollars and again we are looking to bring in as much money as possible by the deadline on Friday. Don’t forget the dress down day.

If you’ve lost a pair of black Ray Ban eye glasses, please see Mrs. Jill in the HS office.

Interested in the military? Alum Sean Chauvin '03 is hosting a U.S. Naval Sea Cadet training program for young Americans ages 10 through 18. The program allows young people to sample military life with no obligation to join any branch of the armed forces. The informational meeting will take place Wednesday March 16th at 7:00pm in the Jefferson Parish Regional Library in Metairie and on Thursday March 24th at the Jefferson Parish Regional Library in Harvey. See Mr. Ferry for more details.



The library will be closed on Friday, March 18th beginning at 8:00 a.m. It will be open for AR tests before school. The only reason students should go to the library is to turn in a laptop for repair. The library will be closed after school and during lunch on Friday .

Attention all high school students in need of service hours... There are several upcoming service opportunities that you can sign up for. Please check your email for additional information.

Attention High School Students:

We will need a few volunteers this Thursday to help set up our annual St. Joseph Altar. We will meet in the library immediately after school for 2:30pm. We will also need students to help break down the altar on Friday afternoon. If you are interested in helping out please email Coach Jackson.


The Diversity Club will meet today at lunch in Mr. DuMouchel's classroom.

A representative from the University of South Alabama will be on campus today during the high school lunch. Students interested in learning more about the college are encouraged to attend. The visit will take place in the Student Center Atrium.
