As a reminder to all students,
The school requires that all cellular devices remain in the student’s locker during the school day starting at 6:50AM. Any electronic or wireless communication device that is seen or heard will be confiscated and turned over to the dean of men, and the student will face disciplinary action. Equipment will be returned only at a parent conference.


Attention 5th graders... on September 18, 2015 we will hold our first grade level sleepover since Katrina. The sleepover will take place after the Chalmette football game and will be located in the Student Center. More information will be coming out in the next few days but mark your calendar! See Mr. Ferry or Ms. Watson for more details.

Attention Juniors and Seniors... if you did not get a packet from Balfour for either graduation supplies or ring orders, you may pick one up in the Student Activities Office. See Mr. Ferry for questions.

Attention student council members, meeting today during high school lunch.

Back to School Dance is less than two weeks away on September 12, 2015. Middle school is from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and high school is from 8:30pm -11:30pm. It is a themed dance so come dress in your favorite throwback outfit. Cost is $10 at the door. Middle school dance is open to everyone in grades 5th-7th including boys from other schools. High school dance is open to ONLY HC boys in grades 8th-12th and all girls from area schools. See Mr. Ferry for details.

Attention all students, faculty, and staff... this is a reminder that every Tuesday at 7:30am mass will be in the adoration chapel located in the library. Everyone is invited and welcomed to come. Again, mass will be offered tomorrow morning at 7:30am.

Attention all new & returning volleyball players! The first practice of the seasons is today, Monday, August 31, 2015 from 4:30pm to 6:00pm at White Sand Volleyball Complex. Bring your emergency contact form & league fees. Check your email for more details.

Do you enjoy trivia games? Varsity Quiz Bowl is seeking HC's most scintillating trivia-minded intellects to lead our team to ultimate victory! Our first meeting will be Tuesday, August 31, 2015 after school in HS 206 (Dr. Kettenring's room), and the same place and time every Tuesday thereafter. Contact Mr. Ranner with any questions.

The Holy Cross Middle School Speech and Debate Team will meet in room A212 for the first time on Thursday, September 3, 2015. New members are asked to attend. The meeting will begin at 2:35pm and last approximately 30 minutes.

There will be NO SHUTTLE service this Friday, September 4, 2015.

Attention everyone... one of the biggest dances of the year is rapidly approaching.... the Back To School Dance. It will be held Saturday September 12. MS is from 6:00pm - 8:00pm and HS is from 8:30pm - 11:30pm. The theme is Back In Time Back To School so come dressed in your favorite throwback outfits. There will be prizes for best and most creative dressed. I honor of the theme, the Back To the Future Delorean will be here for pictures. More information to come. Cost will be $10 at the door. Tell all of your female friends and lets fill up the student center! All IDS will be checked so ONLY HOLY CROSS BOYS ARE ALLOWED for the high school dance! All girls from the area school are invited! For the middle school dance, all boys and girls are allowed even if the boys are not HC students so middle school guys get all of your friends to come!!!

Congratulations to the Junior High Football Team on its 16-8 victory over Brother Martin. The defense was led by Tyler Grubbs, who seemed to be in on every tackle, and the offense was led by quarterback Bryan Broussard, who completed touchdown passes to Kolbe Cage and Tyler Kirkwood. Kirkwood scored on a 65-yard reception with 52 seconds remaining to give the Tigers the lead, and Alondre Wells picked off a pass with 30 seconds left to seal the victory.

Holy Cross football tickets are on sale for our jamboree game vs E.D. White. The game is set for TODAY at 6:00 PM at Nicholls State University's Guidry Stadium. Tickets are $7.00. They will be for sale in the Spirit Shop and at the Front Desk by Mrs. Kyndal Hrapmann.

To the Holy Cross Wrestling Family: There will be a parent information meeting on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 @ 6:00pm in the Huddle. We will be handing out the practice schedule, competition schedule, media guide information, team picture information, and fundraising information. We will also be taking parent polo, competition gear, and practice gear orders at this time.

Attention High School Students:

The Edgewood Park Neighborhood is hosting a cleanup in the neighborhood to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The Day of Service will be this Saturday on August 29, 2015 from 8:30am-12:30pm (sign-in at 7:30am). This is a great opportunity to serve the community and help fulfill your service hour requirement. All new AV team members, there will be a very brief meeting tomorrow morning in the student activities office at 7:30. The meeting will only last 15 minutes, If you are you into computers or making films or have a passion for camera work and being creative then come join the AV team. The AV team is looking for guys to learn how to do video announcements, work the Jumbotron for games, pep rallies, mass, etc. The Av Team is a great way to get behind the scenes at school .See Mr. Ferry if you are interested in becoming one of the AV team members.

An informational meeting will be held TODAY, Monday, August 24 at the beginning of lunch. Again, any student in 8th through 12th grade who is interested in playing should report to room H205 at the beginning of high school lunch. Valuable information about practices, fees, and rules will be discussed.

Attention seniors... your ring ceremony and ring dance is this week. the ceremony will take place Saturday at 6:30pm at St. Dominic's Church in Lakeview. The dance will follow at 8:30pm at The Cannery in Midcity. See Mr. Ferry or Coach Charb if you have questions. The ceremony is open to everyone but please get there early because seating is limited.

Attention varsity golf team members. There is a mandatory meeting on Friday, August 21 at the beginning of lunch in the weight room. The meeting will be used to discuss the upcoming fall season.

“Attention 5th and 6th grade students who are interested in trying out for the Metro Flag Football Team: You must be signed up for TCAC flag football in order to play on the Metro team – forms are due THIS FRIDAY, August 21st. TCAC Evaluations will be held on Monday, August 24th, from 2:40 to 3:45 on the Middle School field. Please wear your PE uniform and appropriate shoes. 7th and 8th grade students will not have evaluations.”

Any student with a TCAC flag football envelope should bring it to the middle school office at this time. Envelopes will not be accepted after homeroom this morning.

Are you interested in debating the "big questions" of life and death? Do you enjoy reading and discussing the ideas of the world's most influential writers? Join the new Philosophy Club, where great minds meet! For an initial meeting come to H207 on Tuesday August 25th at 2.15pm.

Are you into computers or making films? Do you have a passion for camera work and being creative? If so, the AV team is looking for guys to learn how to do video announcements, work the Jumbotron for games, pep rallies, mass, etc. The AV Team is a great way to get behind the scenes at school. See Mr. Ferry if you are interested in becoming one of the AV team members.

Attention everyone... one of the biggest dances of the year is rapidly approaching.... the Back To School Dance. It will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015. MS is from 6pm to 8pm and HS is from 8:30pm-11:30pm. The theme is Back In Time Back To School so come dressed in your favorite throwback outfits. There will be prizes for best and most creative dressed. In honor of the theme, the Back To the Future Delorean will be here for pictures. More information to come. Cost will be $10 at the door.

Attention seniors... your ring ceremony and ring dance is this week. The ceremony will take place Saturday at 6:30pm at St. Dominic's Church in Lakeview. The dance will follow at 8:30pm at The Cannery in Midcity. See Mr. Ferry or Coach Charb if you have questions. The ceremony is open to everyone but please get there early because seating is limited.

Curtains UP! !! Holy Cross Center Stage will hold a meeting Thursday at 2:30pm in the Watson Family Theatre. This will be a brief meeting to sign up for membership and discuss this year's activities. Membership is open to all Holy Cross students, so come join the fun!

There will be a robotics interest meeting in room H102 on Tuesday night at 4:30pm.

There will be a swim team interest meeting in room H102 on Tuesday night at 5:15pm.

Attention all students.... football tickets will be on sale starting Monday 8/17/2015 for our jamboree game vs E.D. White. the game is set for Friday, 8/28/2015 at 6:00pm at Nicholls State University Guidry Stadium. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased in the Spirit Shop and at the front desk, by Kyndal Hrapmann.

Any student with a TCAC flag football envelope should bring it to the middle school office at this time.

Attention varsity golf team members: There is a mandatory meeting on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the beginning of lunch in the weight room. The meeting will be used to discuss the upcoming fall season.

Some of the subjects include the boston marathon bombing, texting while driving, and obesity in America. All projects will be labeled. Please take a close look at the projects as they are intended to make you think. Enjoy but please Do Not Touch any of the projects. Thank you.

Students all lockers should be cleaned out by the end of the day TODAY! Anything left after exams will be thrown away!

Congratulations to the Holy Cross Beach Volleyball team for the 1st place finish in last week's championship against Brother Martin & Jesuit. The team finished the year 7-3, winning 4 different championships!
