Students who recently received an academic monogram will be measured for their letterman jacket or sweater on Sept. 18th.

Each student earning the HC monogram for High Honors is eligible to purchase a jacket (grades 9-12) or sweater (grades 7-8). The student must present his monogram or High Honors award certificate at the time he is measured.

At this time, varsity athletic captains will also be measured for their white jackets. The athlete's coach must have notified Coach Wilson & Ms. Lyons of his captain status. No other varsity lettermen will be measured on this date.

Attention all students... the Back To School Dance is next Saturday September 6th. Cost of the dance is $10 at the door. There will be inflatables such as a velcro wall, jousting, and an inflatable boxing ring as well as a mechanical bull and human gerbil balls. It will be a black light dance so dress up in your bright clothes, glow sticks, and more. The dance is from 5-8pm for 5th through 7th grade and 8:30 to 11:30 for grades 8th through 12th. Food, snacks, and drinks available for sale.There will also be a photobooth.

Hey, You guys!!!! It's time to join Holy Cross Center Stage!!! Don't be left out of the fun of participating in our great theater program! You can act...you can work back stage...just join the FUN! There will be a meeting on Thursday after school in the Watson Theatre. Don't miss this! The meeting will last about 45 minutes.

Calling all bowlers and wanna be bowlers, the Holy Cross Bowling team wants you! The bowling team is open to any student in grades 8 -12, and all skill levels are welcome. So whether you are a serious bowler or just want to have fun, we've got a spot for you! Stop by Coach Ducote's room H106 to get more information and to sign up! But you better hurry, we are limited to about 15 participants.

Attention Students: our annual Grand Parents Day Mass will be next Saturday, September 6,2014. at HC. Coach Jackson is looking for three students that would like to read at the mass. If you are interested in reading please email Coach Jackson as soon as possible. First come first serve...



Attention TCAC Flag Football participants: the Flag Football season is right around the corner. Our season will kickoff the week of September 8, 2014. Please check announcements for game times and opponents. TCAC shirts will be given out on Wednesday September 3 in the cafeteria. Rosters are located in Ms. Susie's office, outside of Coach Lumas' office and on the Holy Cross website under news. We look forward to another exciting season!!!

Letterman Jacket Measurement Day - Sept. 18th

The Recognition Company will come to the HC campus several times a year to measure students for letterman jackets and sweaters. The next measurement date is SEPTEMBER 18th.

Students who recently received an academic monogram will also be measured on Sept. 18th.
Each student earning the HC monogram for High Honors is eligible to purchase a jacket (grades 9-12) or sweater (grades 7-8). The student must present his monogram or High Honors award certificate at the time he is measured.

Attention all 8th through 12th graders! If you are interested in joining the Holy Cross beach volleyball team, come to an informational meeting this Friday morning at 7:30am in H205. We will be reviewing important information about this season's schedule. For anyone who cannot make the meeting, email Dr. Schilling for more information.

We will hold a fire drill today at the beginning of D Block. The time will be approximately 9:45AM. The High School and Administration Building should evacuate to the Paris Avenue neutral ground/median. Middle School should evacuate to the middle school field. Classes taking place in the student center should evacuate to either Crescent Street or Prentiss Avenue, depending on your location in the Student Center. Faculty has been asked to print out the evacuation maps and post in the back of their classroom.
Please remember to...
• A. Convey a sense of seriousness and a concern.
• B. Remain Quiet
• C. Safety and good order is as important as SPEED.
• D. Form a line to the EXIT and proceed to the outside as designated.
• E. Teachers are to assign students who are to lead the class outside.
• F. Teachers are the last to leave the classroom, lock the door and bring the class roll.
• G. Attendance is taken immediately. In a real emergency there would be a clear need to account for all students .

If you are interested in representing Holy Cross on the Metro Flag Football team, we will hold evaluations this Thursday, August 28, from 2:40pm - 4:00pm on the Middle School Field. Please wear your PE uniforms and tennis shoes. Remember, you must already be signed up for TCAC to be eligible for the team.

Middle School Quiz Bowl returns this Wednesday from 3:20 to 4:00 in room M105. This meeting is for returning members, plus new members (5-8th grade) who wish to join. All meetings will be every Wednesday, unless a change occurs.

Mr. Hanemann requests you wait in the library, completing any HW assignments until the meeting starts.

Think you can land on Boardwalk? Trying to find out if Mr. Green committed the deed in the Lounge? Maybe you want to play a Card Game like Uno? If this is you, then come to the Board Games Club next Monday from 3:20 to 4:00. The club is opened to anyone in grades 5-8.

It is time to start collecting BOX TOPS. All of you did a fantastic job collecting last year and we would like to increase the amount. So please collect and turn into your middle school or high school office. The Two Top homerooms will receive a donut party.

Attention Tennis Players. Middle and High School students interested in joining the tennis team should attend our meeting on Thursday, at 2:35pm in room A209 (the art room). This meeting is mandatory for current players as well.

Letterman jackets and patches have arrived! Please pick yours up from Ms. Lyons in room H202 before or after school or at lunch.

The student council would like to welcome everyone back for the start of a great year. For all new students to HC, the announcements are a vital way of getting you the information that you need. Please make sure that during homeroom, you are paying close attention to the announcements. No one should be talking and doing work during the announcements.

Attention Middle School students: there will be Junior High Wrestling Sign-Up sheet on the wrestling room door this week. No experience necessary. See Coach Miller or Coach Stall if you have any questions.

Any student in grades 5 through 8 who is interested in playing TCAC flag football should pick up a form from their homeroom teacher, middle school office, or the school's website. Envelopes with form and money are due on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 during homeroom. Anyone with an envelope at this time should bring it to the middle school office.

Attention: Holy Cross is starting a brand, new High School Quiz bowl team and we are seeking razor-sharp intellects who are ready to take it to the highest levels of success! Any high school student that is interested should meet Mrs. Ranner in HS 207 on Monday August 18, 2014 at 2:40pm.

Evaluations for any student in grades 5 and 6 interested in playing TCAC flag football will take place this Monday, August 18, 2014 from 2:40pm to 4:00pm on the middle school field. Players should wear their PE uniforms.

Attention all students, starting Monday ID cards will be taken for any student who has insufficient funds on their cards for lunch. Please check with your parents about money on your card before you enter the lunch line.

Fundraiser For An HC Parent

On Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 5:00pm, there will be a fundraiser benefitting one of our HC parents, Johnny Messina. Mr. Messina is battling ALS. The fundraiser is being held to assist with the purchase of a customized wheelchair, a specially equipped van and medical costs not covered by insurance.

The student council would like to welcome everyone back for the start of a great year. For all new students to HC, the announcements are a vital way of getting you the information that you need. Please make sure that during homeroom, you are paying close attention to the announcements. No one should be talking or doing any work.

Attention all current power lifters, as well as any students from grades 6-12 that are interested in joining the Holy Cross Powerlifting team: There will be a meeting this Wednesday morning at 7:30am to discuss training, and team information.

Attention Middle School students: There will be Junior High Wrestling Sign-Up sheet on the wrestling room door this week. No experience necessary. See Coach Miller or Coach Stall if you have any questions.

There will be a meeting for all students interested in running cross country Thursday at 2:35pm in H203. The meeting should last no more than 15 minutes.

Any student in grades 5 through 8 who is interested in playing TCAC flag football should pick up a form from their homeroom teacher, middle school office, or the school's website. Envelopes with form and money is due on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 during homeroom. Anyone with an envelope at this time should bring it to the middle school office.

A pair of eyeglasses was found yesterday outside after lunch. Please come to the middle school office to claim.

Attention all students... ID cards are being distributed this morning in homeroom classes. If you do not get your ID card, stop by the student activities office during lunch.

Attention all students... the Back To School dance will be Saturday, September 6, 2014. More information will be out in the coming weeks.

Attention seniors... the Ring Mass and Ring dance will be held August 23, 2014 at St. Dominic's Church and the Sheraton Galleria. See Coach Charb, Coach Jackson, or Mr. Ferry for details.

Uniform & Book Bag Pick Up - July 30 & July31

Uniform orders that were placed in June and July will be available for pick up on Wednesday, July 30 or Thursday, July 31 from 12:00pm – 6:00pm in the Administration Building (1st floor, Alumni/Development Office).

Book bag orders that were placed before July 15, can be picked up Wednesday, July 30 or Thursday, July 31 from 12:00pm – 6:00pm in the Administration Building (1st floor, Alumni/Development Office).

The Spirit Shop will not be opened during this time.
