Uniform & Book Bag Pick Up - July 30 & July31

Uniform orders that were placed in June and July will be available for pick up on Wednesday, July 30 or Thursday, July 31 from 12:00pm – 6:00pm in the Administration Building (1st floor, Alumni/Development Office).

Book bag orders that were placed before July 15, can be picked up Wednesday, July 30 or Thursday, July 31 from 12:00pm – 6:00pm in the Administration Building (1st floor, Alumni/Development Office).

The Spirit Shop will not be opened during this time.

POPs Concert Funds Benefit Band

6th Graders Alex Hrabar and Zachary Fuller test out two of the new baritones purchased through the funds raised at this year's POPs Concert!

Some of the instruments that the Bengal and Tiger Bands has been able to order since POPs:

On Tuesday, May 6, 2014 several Holy Cross students competed at the State Social Studies Fair in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Congratulations goes out to 5th grader Hayes Alford, who earned a 5th place finish in Division 1 in the Political Science category. Other competitors were:

Attention Students:
Holy Cross School is once again teaming up with Operation Homefront to collect used or new school supplies that will be shipped to Afghanistan to support our troops deployed there. The supplies that we ship over will be distributed by military personnel to Afghan school children to build trust and a rapport in the areas where our troops operate. This effort has been cited as a highly successful endeavor that has saved American lives over the past ten years. Our drive will start today, Monday, May 12 and end on Thursday, May 22. You can drop off your supplies at our collection boxes located outside the High School and Middle School offices and in the 8th Grade Center.

Coach Jackson is also looking for volunteers to help us move the supplies after the drive is over.

The dance is tomorrow night and is for all 8th-12th graders from 8-11pm in the Student Center. Girls from all the area catholic-all girl schools are invited. This is the last dance of the year to kick-off the summer in style with a photo booth, DJ, Inflatables, and more. $10 at the door. Check the flyers around school more information.

Track, Powerlifting, Baseball, Tennis and Lacrosse pictures are in the spirit shop. If anyone on those teams hasn’t picked up their pictures come by at lunch to get them.

Juniors are reminded that their crawfish boil is TODAY at the pavillion in City Park next to Christian Brothers. Any junior who has not paid need to bring the $ to Mr. Westfall ASAP.

Attention all returning athletes....Tommorrow the Sports Medicine Department will offer physicals during P.E. periods. The cost is $30 and the physicals will be good for one calendar year. Please visit the HC website and download the "LHSAA Medical History" Form and obtain your parents' signatures. Physicals will also be offered during lunch periods. Physicals are required for all 8th through 12th grade athletes.

Congratulations to Marloes Booker, who shot a 2 day score of 178 to place 38th at the Division 2 State Golf Tournament, held at The Club at Huntington Park in Shreveport.

The Holy Cross Varsity Bowling Team would like to extend a congratulations to Beau Assevado and Colin Smith. Beau and Colin were both named as All District bowlers based on their high scores, exemplary grades and overall attitude. Great job, guys!

On Wednesday, May 7th in the HC Student Center, there will be a letterman jacket fitting for VARSITY ATHLETES ONLY. It will be an all day fitting beginning with first period. Athletes will be measured during their PE classes. Anyone not having PE on Wednesday needs to be fitted during lunch. Remember, it is for varsity lettermen ONLY! Those who have lettered for academics and/or Tiger Band will be measured at another time TBA.

A PLAY?...no THEATRE?... It would be a terrible world! BUT!...The Fine Arts are HERE...all around us on the campus! So we are celebrating for a WEEK...starting tomorrow: check out the singing...the music...the art ...and the PLAY...Guys and Dolls! Check out the music at lunch and the art around the campus...and the play in the theatre! It's FINE ARTS WEEK!!!

Congratulations to Jerry Cook and Travis Crawford who qualified for the State Track Meet. Jerry qualified in the triple jump and Travis qualified in the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles.

We just received word that we were once again the top fundraising school in Louisiana and Mississippi for the 5th year in a row! We have raised over $60,000 for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society while participating in the pennies for patients program… Thank you again for your dedication to the program’s success…

Attention 6th graders today is the day! Don't forget to come by the cafeteria for your luncheon. Thanks again for being the top fundraising class this year...
