In addition to the regular Spirit Shop hours for the week of October 27, 2014, the Spirit Shop will be opened on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 7:30am - 3:30pm. Tickets for Friday night's football game will be on sale beginning Monday during lunch periods.

Looking for a good scare to put you in the mood for Halloween? From the author who brought you Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes the movie adaption of Roald Dahl's The Witches. Film Club will show The Witches from 2:40pm-4:15pm this Thursday in room H102. All students are welcome to attend and concessions will be sold.

Attention all 7th and 8th Graders, tryouts for Basketball will be held in the student center November 4th&5th from 2:50pm-4:00pm. If you have any questions or concerns, please email or see Coach Kirkwood.

Your HC cross country team took 2nd overall in the Schommer classic on Sat. The following runners placed:

Holy Cross Soccer Tryouts for all 8th graders through 12th graders will be held Monday, October 27, 2014 and Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at PAC on the westbank from 4:00pm-6pm. ALL players wishing to tryout must attend both sessions unless otherwise organized with Coach Hayers.
Middle school soccer tryouts for 5th, 6th and 7th graders will be held tTuesday, November 4, 2014 and Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 2:45pm-4:15pm on the middle school field.
All players must wear soccer cleats, shin guards and appropriate soccer clothing. You should also bring a pumped up soccer ball.

Attention All Students:

We have received a very important service opportunity for our school community to get involved in. Not only will you earn service hours, but you will also have the opportunity to minister to the poor and the less fortunate. Alum Mike Emig has invited us to come to Ozanam Inn on Sunday November 23 to serve their annual Thanksgiving meal to the homeless. We will help prepare and serve the meal from 12:00pm-6:00pm… Please see Coach Jackson in the Student Activities Office to sign up for this important event.

Congratulations to the Junior High Football Team on its 14-0 victory over St. Aug. Chandler Fields connected on touchdown passes to Celven Hulbert and Gerard Heirsch, and the Tiger defense received strong performances from Dominic Lamm and Colby Brown as it recorded its second straight shutout.

TCACplayoffs begin tomorrow with the Titans taking on the Ravens followed by the Broncos and Seahawks. The Browns will take on the winner of the Broncos- Seahawks and the Colts will take on the winner of the Titans and Ravens, Those games will be on a day and time to be determined next week.

The Holy Cross Beach Volleyball ended their regular season with a win against Jesuit. The team of Evan Cory and Seth Braquet dominated again winning 21-11 and 21-14, while the team of Max Heidingsfelder, Nick Tamplain, Cameron Director, and Austen Bailey won both games in a close match. The Tigers finish the fall season with a 2 and 2 record.

The Metro Flag Football team defeated Trinity 21-0 yesterday and improved their record to 3-2. The offense was led by Bryce Gauthier, Todd Canatella, and Peyton Buras. The defense collected two more interceptions on their way to a shut-out. The next game is today against Country Day at LaSalle Park for 5:00pm.

In the last regular season games of TCAC yesterday, the Colts captured the number 2 seed in the playoffs edging the Ravens 39 to 33. In the second game, the Titans moved in to the number 3 seed shutting out the Panthers 25 to 0. The playoffs will begin this Friday, October 24th with the Titans taking on the Ravens at 2:45pm followed by the Broncos and Seahawks.

A representative from St. Louis University located in Missouri will be on campus tomorrow, October 22, 2014to answer your questions. All high school students interested in learning more about this university are invited to attend.

Homecoming tickets are on sale in the Student Activities Office. The dance is being held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Cost is $40 a couple or $20 an individual. The dance is from 8-11pm on Saturday.

Our Homecoming game is tonight at Tad Gormley against Brother Martin. Come out and support your Tigers.

Attention students who nominated a girl for Homecoming Court: if you would like the copy of the picture Pat Garin took, please stop by the Student Activities Office to pick it up.

Calling all Chess Masters and would be Chess Masters. We are organizing a Chess Club for 5-12 graders. Practices will be held each week with the goal of competing against other schools. The deadline to turn in Box Tops is October 27, 2014. The two homerooms leading the Box Tops contest are 12th grade - Ms. Lyons and 6th grade - Ms.Nicoladis. The two homerooms that bring in the most Box Tops will receive donuts.

In TCAC games yesterday, the Titans picked up their 5th win with a 32 to 27 win over the 49'ers. In the second game, the Broncos ended their regular season at 5 and 3 edging the Seahawks 33 to 27. The last games of the regular season are on Monday with the Colts taking on the Ravens followed by the Panthers and Titans.

Attention all Students: The Student Center will be closed immediately following dismissal for Open House prep. There will be no access to the Atrium. Please use appropriate exterior stairwells for access to 2nd and 3rd floors. Thanks.

Tickets for this week's game against Jesuit are are on sale in the spirit shop. Cost is $6. Students CAN use their IDs and season passes are good.

In TCAC action yesterday, the Ravens upset the Falcons 18 to 12 and the Browns held off a late Titan comeback to win 28 to 25 and moved in to a first place tie with the Colts.Games continue on Monday with the 49'ers taking on the Seahawks followed by the Colts and Broncos.

Reminder! A representative from the University of New Orleans will be on campus today during the high school lunch from 11:55 to 12:25 in the Student Center Atrium.

Next week we will have several colleges visiting campus. Southeastern University will be visiting on Monday, October 13th. The University of Alabama at Birmingham will be visiting on Tuesday, October 14th. Both visits will take place during the high school lunch in the Student Center Atrium.

Congrats to the varsity golf team on their district victory over Brother Martin Tuesday at Lakewood Golf Course. The Tiger golfers defeated the Crusaders 152-159. The team was led by Sophomore Peter Hansen, who shot 1 under par 35. Sophomore Derek Bowens shot 1 over par 37. Senior Nick Tamplain and 8th grader Jay Beatmann both shot 4 over par 40, and senior Marloes Booker shot 5 over par 41. The victory ran the team’s fall season district record to 3-1.

TCAC games today are the Browns vs. the Colts followed by 49'ers and Ravens.

The Metro Football team defeated Lusher yesterday 20 to 12, evening their record at 2 and 2. The Tiger defense was led by Xane Hunter's and Justice Smith's interceptions returned for touchdowns, while the offense scored on a direct snap to Davis Stephens. The next game is a rematch versus Trinity on Tuesday, October 21.

Thursday's Art Club will be held from 3:15 to 4:15 this week. Repeat.

Ever thought about attending college in our Nation's Capital? A representative from Catholic University located in Washington, DC will be on campus on Friday, October 3 during the high school lunch from 12:25pm to 1:00pm. The visit will take place in the Student Center Atrium.

Congratulations to the Junior High Football Team on its 18-12 win over St. Aug. Offensively, the Tigers were led by Celven Hulbert, who scored two rushing touchdowns, and Chandler Fields, who added a touchdown pass to Gerard Heirsch. Defensively, the Tigers forced 3 turnovers, including an interception and fumble recovery by Chase Rouzano and a fumble recovery by Merlin Seminary. Good job, Tigers!

IN TCAC games yesterday, the 49'ers picked up their first win of the season by soundly defeating the Panthers 40 to 8. In the second game, the Colts remained undefeated at 4 and 0 with a 26 to 12 win over the Falcons. Games today are the Titans vs. the Seahawks at 2:25pm followed by the Broncos and Falcons at 3:10pm.

Did you know that if you pass "GO" you will join the Board Game Club? The club meets today in room M105 from 3:20 to 4:05. Not only will members have a chance to play Checkers, UNO, or Monopoly, but they can also play a few card games like Magic the Gathering or Go Fish.

In TCAC games yesterday, the Titans won their second straight game defeating the Ravens 32 to 20. In the second game, the Browns remained undefeated at 3 and 0 by defeating the previously undefeated Broncos 33 to 12.

The Metro Football team defeated Holy Name of Jesus yesterday 20 to 6. The defense dominated with five interceptions, led by Bryce Gregoire with two of them. The team looks to improve to 2-1 with a game against Stuart Hall today at La Salle Park for 4 pm.
