Holy Cross offers classes in choral music at all grade levels. classes focus on musicianship, music theory, and creativity in music. Students perform in two major concerts per year. Concert repertoire includes sacred and secular music from a variety of traditions. Students also attend field trips to represent Holy Cross by performing in the community.
Mission
We sing to celebrate the gift of music God has bestowed upon us. As musicians, we are mindful, disciplined, and intelligent. As Holy Cross Chorus members, we are leaders in our school. We realize that music education is integral to the Holy Cross mission of educating the whole man: heart, mind, body and soul. As musicians, all that we do - in our music, in our studies, in our lives - strives for excellence.
Choral Music Director
Mrs. Meredith Lee Hotard
Mrs. Hotard received her Master of Music Education and Bachelor of Music Therapy from Loyola University New Orleans. She is a member of the Music Educators' National Conference, the international music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota, and the New Orleans Opera Chorus. Mrs. Hotard is a regular performer in the New Orleans musical theater community.
