We are pleased that you are considering Holy Cross as a choice for your son.
Please fill out the online application and turn in the following materials to the Admissions Office:
- The previous two years of report card grades
- The previous two years of standardized test scores
- A current report card from this year
- An essay on one of the linked topics (hand-written by the applicant)
In addition to Holy Cross receiving the above materials, all prospective students and families meet with a member of the Admissions Committee for a brief interview. After all required application materials are received, you will be contacted to schedule a convenient meeting time.
Answering the call of Father Basile Moreau, the founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, we aim to educate the mind and heart, body and soul. We put an emphasis on creating a caring and "family" atmosphere. Part of this is established by capping our class size at 25, which allows for more individual attention between the teacher and student.
Holy Cross offers a "technology-infused" curriculum that continues to grow. Our state-of-the-art wireless campus is outfitted with two computer labs to complement our one-to-one laptop program in all grades. Our teachers are kept on the cutting edge through continual training, from implementing the interactive SMART™ Board into their own lessons to alternative assessments online.
At Holy Cross, our mission is to educate the whole man. Since 1849, we have accomplished this mission through a time-tested mix of a challenging, yet caring, academic regimen, supplemented by an extensive athletic program for both middle and high school students.
In addition, Holy Cross offers the most impressive array of extracurricular activities of any middle or high school in the metropolitan area, including a sequential music program for young men in grades 5-12, the only such program of its kind in the New Orleans area.
We look forward to seeing you on campus soon.
Sincerely,
Brian J. Kitchen
Director of Admissions
